Is this a genuine error? Ocado- champagne

I know it’s a first world problem.
I ordered 6 bottles of Veuve and they’ve delivered 3 bottles & 3 bottles of similar looking Prosecco. Not as a substitution, nothing mentioned, difference in price is about £25 a bottle

We don’t drink champagne all day!! It’s like 2/3 glasses with a few snacks/dips. No one expects free flowing champagne all day.
I meant there’s one person that usually drinks Prosecco, so once the champagne runs out she’d drink Prosecco all day. It’s about 10 hours my family are here!

Back to Majestic next year. Their special offer was better, I just missed it

The Cringe I am sure Is to make you make you feel bad about drinking at Christmas.

I think it is likely a computer error or at least a programmer error, it’s unlikely they purposely did this as I would assume that the profit is about the same per bottle or at least not enough to make a difference on three bottles.

I think it most likely that the bottles were muddled up by an overtired overworked employee trying to fill bags in the middle of the night while reading small print in what may not be their first language. Perhaps said employee isn’t very familiar with the difference between champagne and Prosecco.

Ocado the company do not deliberately substitute cheap goods for expensive. I use them all the time and I’ve never once had that, which I would have by now if they were sneaky.
