Omfg the reviews!

I've bought my tickets already, so I'm committed now, but jeez! It's such a treat for me to get to the cinema these days.

I'm keeping an open mind anyway, but I haven't heard so many bad reviews of a film in bloody ages. Typical, that it's the one I'm going to see!

somehow manages to play the whole thing with a grace and dignity that really shouldn’t be possible in a movie that shows Rebel Wilson scratching her cat-crotch.

How did this NOT fall into the 'so bad it's good' category???

Cats is a marmite musical anyway so I would just go with an open mind.

Just got back.
For reference I am a huge musicals fan and have seen it on stage 6 times, and have the dvd of the 2000s filmed version.

It was so bad it was an experience. The voices were poor (barring Jennifer Hudson..fair play to her) the choreography has been absolutely butchered.. the whole thing about CATS is it is a dance musical and it has been altered and important dances cut out... Mr Mistoffeles for one, and the CGI was what I can only imagine a bad acid trip would be like... everything swinging in and out of proportion; not to mention the CGI'ing outof males genitals and left in boobs on the females.

They tried to make Rebel Wilson be... Rebel Wilson in a fuzzy fat suit, and it was just dire.

So bad it was almost good...

I said afterwards that it was like watching Fat Amy from Pitch Perfect star in an am dram version of Cats, including the mermaid dancing!

Loved it! Thought it was really well done and liked the CGI ears. Cried at Jennifer Hudson's rendition of Memories and found it all quite beautiful. Clearly, I am a total weirdo Xmas Wink.

@TwoMuchTwoYoung

There was a child sitting near us who looked to be about 4 or 5 and she was laughing away at it. I definitely found it fine for young children. But, disclaimer, I am not a furry or fetishist, so maybe some of the 'sexiness' went over my head.
