Was I involved in this car accident? (attempt 2)

I was at the bottom of a hill turning right onto a main road. Turned right when clear then heard a loud noise. Looked in my mirror to see a wing mirror shattering and debris in the air. Pull over a little way up the road and go and see if I can help.

The lady is really shaken up. I ask what happened and she tells me that she just looked up and I was in front of her!

There is zero damage to my car. I have checked it three times but can only find mud She has damage to her drivers wing mirror and drivers front wheel arch.

I’ve rung my insurance company, and they have got the information on file ready but it just all seems a bit bizarre.

Anyone been in a similar situation?

I agree with PP - from looking at the photos of damage and the diagram and from what she said, it sounds like she’s hit another car turning left out of the junction or the bollard. It looks to me like she’s scraped alongside something, not hit you as you would be in front so the damage would be to the front of her vehicle. Also, your white car would show paint transfer at least. I really think she was distracted, wasn’t sure what happened and because you stopped, you got the blame from her.

Surely she must've hit the bollard?

It's very kind of you to stop for this accident, I just wondered if you saw this in your rear view mirror and decided to stop whilst knowing/thinking it wasn't you involved?

p.s. Never ever ever tell the insurance company if you aren't involved as they will use it as an excuse to put your premiums up. Don't even ring them with a hypothetical question (learnt that one to my cost)
