Lady at soft play

Beckyboo123 · 20/12/2019 13:13

I’m sat at a local soft play centre which is very busy and the lady at the next table to me has been filing her nails for the last 15 minutes. AIBU to think that it’s a bit gross?

That's the least of your worries at soft play
Those places are so dirty

Gross, inconsiderate and rude.

It's shocking what some people consider as acceptable behaviour in public. What's next? Trim her pubes?

Molly2016 · 20/12/2019 16:08

Trim her pubes 🤣
Yeah it’s gross. Why would anyone do this?
I’ve been to a soft play where the woman on the table next to me starting shelling pistachios. My child is nut allergic and we had to leave. Why do people open big bags of nuts at soft play or file their nails?
Because they are inconsiderate.

Biancadelrioisback · 20/12/2019 16:16

But why is it gross and wrong? I just don't get it

Aridane · 20/12/2019 16:20

I don't think it's ok to leave bits of your body lying around where other people eat

Good luck then with the toddler snot, dribble, wee and worse!

Pfefferkuchen · 20/12/2019 16:22

give it time.. with the attitude of some people, it' s coming!
Envy (obviously not envy)

Ocomeocomeimaginaryfleas · 20/12/2019 16:23

‘ Any personal grooming in public is a bit yucky.’

Completely agree, filing nails, touching up lipstick, combing and hair arranging. So rude.

Pfefferkuchen · 20/12/2019 16:23

how is that relevant? Does it make it remotely acceptable to change a nappy on the table whilst you are there?

Biancadelrioisback · 20/12/2019 16:24

Why is touching up lipstick yuck though? I literally don't understand

Aaarrgghhh · 20/12/2019 16:27

It’s relevant to what the person was replying to. No nappy was mentioned in the comment quoted.

Drum2018 · 20/12/2019 16:27

Don't think it's gross but the noise of filing nails would drive me over the edge so I wouldn't be able to sit near her Grin

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 20/12/2019 16:30

Pretty horrible but not as bad as brushing your hair at a restaurant table, which I’ve seen. yuk.

Pfefferkuchen · 20/12/2019 16:33

Aaarrgghhh
but it's not relevant, that's the point.

Aaarrgghhh · 20/12/2019 16:36

Pfefferkuchen What on earth are you on about? You picked a comment and hearted them for something that they didn’t reply to.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 20/12/2019 16:37

You’re in softplay! Grin

Aaarrgghhh · 20/12/2019 16:38

Berated not hearted.

Butterflyflower1234 · 20/12/2019 16:42

So the poor women actually has five minutes (or sorry 15 mins) to spend on her self whilst her child is playing and she dares to do something nice for herself... Bad person!!!

Aaarrgghhh · 20/12/2019 16:45

Serious question here (I don’t actually care about someone filing their nails in public) do people not have any time for these things when their kids are in bed? I have two kids myself so I’m not naive to the difficulties they add to life but some people are acting as if this is the only time she will have to file her nails.

Bodear · 20/12/2019 16:48

I put my make up on and comb my hair into a pony on the train every day before work. Am I disgusting and if so could someone tell me why?

Nandocushion · 20/12/2019 16:51

I think eating lunch at soft play is gross.

Pfefferkuchen · 20/12/2019 17:02

first she should be supervising her child, a soft play is not childcare

Then the "poor" woman should learn some basic manners and keep personal grooming for her private home. It's a soft play, not a zoo Grin

Straycatstrut · 20/12/2019 17:02

Wouldn't bother me unless he was literally doing it over my food.

Straycatstrut · 20/12/2019 17:02

*she

Pfefferkuchen · 20/12/2019 17:02
