First year mum in care home - what would be reasonable as Christmas presents??

She is really happy there, and has been there for 3.5 months.

They have a system where you give presents into the kitty and then everyone goes home with several from the staff party.

They've said biscuits, chocolates, wine all nice gifts when I asked.

Two questions - what would Be Reasonable -

  • in quantity/value
  • ideas for something else nice that you think would be welcome alongside biscuits, chocolate, panettone and champagne???

A Christmas plant... The red one. Cant remember what its called...

Sweets.... A fruit basket... Nice tea and coffee for the staff room

Nice hand cream. Handwashing is tough on your skin.

red plant is a poinsetta.

If these are staff gifts yes to handcream or small gift vouchers, gloves, purse. I'd give vodka, baileys or port rather than champagne.

A gift for your mum - depending on the phone arrangements a phone with a contract so they can contact you when they need to.

Biscuits and chocolates were most appreciated where i worked in a care home

CoffeeRunner · 18/12/2019 21:47

You mean for staff?

Wine, chocolate, biscuits etc are always lovely & well appreciated.

I would stay away from smellies.

BenevolentEzza · 18/12/2019 21:54

Biscuits are always fabulous! 😊

Also, I've always really appreciated a voucher - even just a fiver for somewhere like:

Boots/WHSmith/Lush/Debenhams/M&S/Next/Costa/Gregg's (😋) Etc...

The other day I saw in M&S gift cards for their Dine In For Two.
Might be nice for quite a few people.

A pair of cosy socks?
A nice mug or cup?
Maybe a reed diffuser?
