To give £100 Xmas bonus to cleaner

AlorMy · 17/12/2019 16:36

Usually pay her £25 a week.

She’s been cleaning my home about 8 months so first Xmas.

I’m thinking of £100. Is that too much? Not enough?

YABU = too little
YANBU = anything else (just right/too much)

if someone gave me that much i would remember them forever.it would have a ripple effect and change the life of a family Christmas.how could that ever be bad.

momtoboys · 17/12/2019 18:02

If you can afford that amount I think it is generous and lovely to give it to your cleaner. I'm sure she can use it.

peachypetite · 17/12/2019 18:04

Very generous. Good cleaners are hard to find so if you’re happy with her and you can afford it why wouldn’t you.

LilyPinkNoah · 17/12/2019 18:04

No I won't pay her next week so yes I'll pay £30 this week and then £60 next week. Essentially her lost week and a bonus week.

81Byerley · 17/12/2019 18:06

Can I be your cleaner? The most I ever got was a tenner!

Womenwotlunch · 17/12/2019 18:07

£50 is fine

Megan2018 · 17/12/2019 18:09

I pay mine for the week she misses plus an extra week, we pay £30pw so she gets £60 plus a box of chocolates

HermioneWeasley · 17/12/2019 18:14

I give a week’s pay and a small gift - box of chocs usually

She always gives us a token for an hour’s free cleaning, which is extremely generous (and we don’t ever redeem)..

PineappleDanish · 17/12/2019 18:14

I give mine double pay and a tub of sweets for her kids. We also increased her money this year to show her we value her and want to keep her!

DorisDances · 17/12/2019 18:15

£50 would seem appropriate

Barmaid101 · 17/12/2019 18:16

Bottle of prosecco from us!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 17/12/2019 18:16

I have had my cleaner for over 20 years, I love her, I normally give £100 at Christmas and another amount when she goes on her annual holiday which depends on how much I can afford at the time. Dh wants to give her £200 this Christmas as she’s so brilliant but I’m dithering about that amount.

PompeyBez · 17/12/2019 18:19

I wouldn't give £100 if you think you may not be able to afford it in future years. I'd probably give between £25 /£50 and a bottle of wine or chocolates depending on her preference

HuggedTrees · 17/12/2019 18:20

Fuck I’ve bought mine a candle.
But if you can afford £100 go for it, but she’s expect that next year so maybe do £50 if that’s what you’re planning going forwards

NerrSnerr · 17/12/2019 18:22

If you can afford it and think she's worth it than it's not too much.

HavelockVetinari · 17/12/2019 18:22

I always pay 2 weeks' pay

Novembre · 17/12/2019 18:23

Extremely generous, I think a £25 bonus is more than adequate x

Toddlerteaplease · 17/12/2019 18:25

Mine got a £10 costa voucher. She brought my cats some treats.

applesnotoranges · 17/12/2019 18:38

It's more than I do ( week's wages and chocolates) but if you can afford it and you like her ( I assume it's a her) then I think it's lovely. She will be thrilled

tashac89 · 17/12/2019 18:51

Shock Very generous. I haven't had any Christmas bonus/tips and I'm only taking 2 days off over Christmas, none of my clients are going a week without

SourAndSnippy · 17/12/2019 18:55

I usually go for a week or twos pay but depends on how long they've worked for me. If I were you I'd give £30 plus a card.

Actionhasmagic · 17/12/2019 19:02

I have ours £100 bonus

PriscillaTheHun · 17/12/2019 19:04

Too much. My cleaner comes weekly and I pay her £45. I'll be giving her £100 this week (her normal £45 plus £55 bonus)

OneKeyAtATime · 17/12/2019 19:09

Why would it be too much? Because she's 'just ' a cleaner? :(

catwithnohat · 17/12/2019 19:14

I gave my cleaner - 2 weeks cleaning as she's away and a couple of stocking fillers (no idea what she likes)

Was wondering if it was too much/little. Don't want to be considered one thing or the other!
