To want updates?

I was clearing out my watch list tonight and found myself wondering how all the threads turned out. This isn't like the long running ones which everyone knows about and lots of people wonder about, they're just fairly small threads which are on my watch list because I posted on them, where I want to know how it all turned out. For example, did they buy house a or house b? How overdue was the baby in the end? Which kitchen did you choose?

Would it be unreasonable to @ all the OPs to try and find out?

I want to know about the poster not invited to the wedding in south Africa with her boyfriend, what happened there?, oh and the triple thread with nasty women K,M and others whose initials I cant remember who made the poor posters life hell, for starters.

Mumsnet should enable 'Update' email reminders for the thread starter, who would receive a friendly email saying something like 'You started a thread on 06.11.2019 on Mumsnet. We hope you found a happy resolution... Would you like to return to update your thread?" with a link to the thread. The OP could then add an update (with as much or as little detail as they wish) and the thread followers would get a notifcation to say 'SheSaidHummingbird updated her thread!"

@iamNOTmagic it was clearly a troll from the OP's second or third update. By the last update most people were like 'ok then' which the troll hunter hunters were up in arms about.

If it's a troll thread, YABU to fall for it.

If it's not a troll thread, YABU to hound the OP for updates. This is a chat forum, and where the threads are genuine they are people's lives - not a soap opera for anyone's entertainment.

If you want drama with juicy updates and closure you need to pick up a book or watch TV. This isn't the place for that.

I was glad the CF Parking thread went. Those of us casting some doubts were getting slagged off and accused of having 'pea sized brains' when the thread had become obviously ludicrous.

I just came on to read the parking thread but was not at all surprised when I realised it had disappeared. It was utterly ridiculous from the very first post and didn't make sense at all.

And yes the wedding in South Africa. Was that the one where the OP was the only one not invited?
