I used to use it a bit for work (shout outs for experts) but in the run up to the election , and now, I am completely pissed off with it. It's keyboard warriors in the extreme. The amount of vitriol from people who are anon and don't even have the courage to have a profile showing who they are, or they do , and they have 2 followers but think the world wants to hear their opinions. It doesn't change anything so anyone hoping to change people's opinions on politics by using it is deluded, surely.

Don't use it if you don't like it. But there is a lot of good there. I've been on twitter for donkey's years and my experience is overwhelmingly positive. It's easy enough to avoid the shit.

Depends who you follow and why. I use it mainly for work and find it useful.

I don't really 'get' twitter. I do look at Mumsnet Madness though!

The tools are there to control your timeline.

If your timeline is irritating you, you’re not making use of them.

To think reading Twitter is a waste of life

I think that about MN most days actually, but still doesn't stop me reading it Grin
Sometimes I'll catch myself think why am I arguing with random strangers behind a screen, why am I obsessively reading others thoughts, I've got enough shit up here without adding randomers musings to it as well....Grin

Twitter is a platform for delivering information. It's no different from the tv or a library. You can use it how you choose. You could spend your time watching Love Island on tv, or watching documentaries and increasing your knowledge. You could go to the library and read pulp romance, or books that will add to your knowledge.

Twitter, and the whole interent is full of great informative stuff, and total dross. Up to the user.
