To ask Tories what their prize is?

So many of them are gloating, bollox about 'lefty tears' and 'suck it up buttercup'.

While a friend of mine is shaking she's so scared about what will happen to her disabled child.

So, what's the prize? Now you've won?

Labour supporters would've done precisely the same.

thefluffysideofgrey · 13/12/2019 21:46

@Paddingtonthebear

Freedom of speech. You don't have to read it.

I have seen a lot of gloating. It's vile. I've heard people cheering.

Why?

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, not yet.

I would like to know what people are so pleased about.

We have falling educational standards, health outcomes and life expectancy. That's not really worth debating. It's really not.

Yet, people are celebrating more of the same? Really?

I have not seen any gloating whatsoever. All I have seen is more hard left rhetoric describing all Tories as racist.

MidnightCircus · 13/12/2019 21:48

I've seen a few of those posts on my facebook OP, which isn't surprising as previously it was all Labour voters saying Tory voters are selfish, scum, should remove themself as a friend if voting Tory etc.
As a Tory voter, my prize is a strong, stable government that might actually achieve its manifesto without causing a daft amount of debt by borrowing. I do feel for your friend, but there was no guarantee it would be better if Labour had won. There's no guarantee anything is going to get worse because they didn't either.

Trewser · 13/12/2019 21:49

I haven't seen any gloating. I've seen the usual "if you voted tory you're a cunt/want poor people to die/hate the NHS" that I'm almost immune to now.

Trewser · 13/12/2019 21:53

But my prize is the destruction of Corbyns Labour. I'm delighted about that.

YouJustDoYou · 13/12/2019 21:55

I've seen nor spoken to any Tory supporter who has done this. It's just been a case of "phew".

TeenPlusTwenties · 13/12/2019 21:58

We don't have falling educational standards. We are improving in the PISA rankings.

BoswellSolver · 13/12/2019 21:59

If your friend is really 'shaking' with fear, then she has an anxiety disorder and needs to address this, especially as she has a child with extra needs.
Politics did not cause her 'shaking' fit.
She has allowed hysteria and drama to fester unchecked.
Or, and this is my favourite theory.....there is no 'shaking' friend.

UrsulaPandress · 13/12/2019 21:59

If labour had won there would have been dancing in the streets.

HermioneWeasley · 13/12/2019 22:01

I haven’t seen any Tories gloating. I’ve seen a lot of corbynites calling vast swathes of th electorate racist cunts, and I’ve also seen several labour activists musing how the problem is the voters.

x2boys · 13/12/2019 22:02

I think.a lot of would be Labour voters are voting conservative as it's seen as the lesser of two evils ,s local town to me, Leigh, , has voted for conservative for the first time ever this is a traditionally working class town why is this ?

midnightmisssuki · 13/12/2019 22:05

She’s being hysterical and listening to the scaremongering.

Caselgarcia · 13/12/2019 22:05

I think it would be in everyone's interest to see a strong Labour party. Whether you are a Tory or not. Rather than seeing any Tories 'gloat', I see disillusioned lifelong Labour supporters. I can't believe Stoke of all places has three Tory MP's now.

Realistically nothing is going to be either as good or as bad as people expect.

midnightmisssuki · 13/12/2019 22:10

I can tell you that I’ve been called a cunt for voting Tory though. Nice and polite these labour supporters 🤷🏻‍♀️

mrsbyers · 13/12/2019 22:10

Bullshit about life expectancy falling , still on the increase

People can choose to believe or ignore it. Clearly many are choosing to ignore it.

Before anyone decides to lay in to me again, I haven’t said I voted Labour. I don’t support Corbyn. I just don’t see much compassion from the conservatives here or anywhere else about these horrendous issues we have in the UK. Like the rest of are making it all up. I couldn’t give a crap about gloating or not not gloating or “the prize”.

Trewser · 13/12/2019 22:14

Corbynistas are really keen on calling Tory voters cunts. Just another reason I'm delighted with the result.

PinkCrayon · 13/12/2019 22:15

I don't know how some people haven't seen gloating Boris supporters, It's really strange and embarrassing, fair enough if you feel like you 'had' to do it, but if you are there shrieking yesss we won. After voting in a proven racist and liar. It just all looks a bit wrong.

UrsulaPandress · 13/12/2019 22:15

Erm. Increase in life expectancy has stalled.
