Ok this is unashamedly a begging thread.

My toddler is undergoing some potentially serious health investigations. My dad died at Christmas so this is a crappy time of year for me anyway, and to top it all off, Boris Bloody Johnson is PM. And I work for the NHS, so before you know it, I’ll be working for Donald Trump, forced to wear a sexy nurse outfit every day and charge people £1247488383 for a paracetamol.

Please can you help me to cheer the fuck up? Spam me with dog pictures, good news stories, awful and embarrassing Christmas party shenanigans - anything to stop me feeling like I would quite like to jump off the top of the nearest multi-storey today.

I think we all need a bit of this in our lives right now.

@Annafs Congratulations!!! We are utterly fucked, aren’t we? At least we have cross-transferable skills for emigration.

Here’s 3 of my favourite pictures of Havelock. They always make me smile.

I don't have cute pictures. However, my DS2 has just spent a week in hospital (it should have been a lovely new one but catastrophic errors mean that it's not ready yet - guess where I am?!).
The staff were all amazing. Nurses, surgeons, admin, CSWs, cleaners. I'm not a "nurses are all angels" type, my family have had less than good experiences, but this time it was fabulous. Thank you to all NHS workers!

My 2 year old has a way with words- his favourite story at the moment is Stickman, he knows it off by heart and we read it every night, he pronounces his S’s as D’s so the last line he says is ‘I’m Dickman that’s me! And I’m dicking right here in my family tree!’
and when we play hide and seek he says ‘I hide, you cunt’ Xmas Grin

Not exactly what you were asking for, but this news story from last weekend is one of the best things I’ve read for a while - amazing achievement!!

@FenellaMaxwell I think your pup would probably LOVE having a little seal buddy! Especially if your pup is the kind that can't seem to stay out of the pool during the summertime, he'd have an an adorable little buddy for bath time Grin

I had a short video of someone laying on their couch with the most adorable...SEA OTTER...just CUDDLING the person filming it! You could only see the person filming it from the waist down, their legs completely outstretched on the couch with the biggest fluffiest most adorable sea otter rolling around and cuddling on his lap like he was a big puppy!!! I was like "No way...I SO did NOT need to see this! I didn't know they could live happily (at least the otter looked it) living inside not completely submerged in water! I want one!!!" So apparently Sea Otters can be lap doggies too, but just fuzzier and with that adorable little face! Shock

@FenellaMaxwell I'm not sure if you still need a cheer-em-up, but I wanted to share my little baby fluffy butt with you. Her name is Princess Leia, but I actually call her Beep because she doesn't really meow, she makes these little beeps and trills - super cute - but I'm admittedly biased. I rescued her from the gutter (quite literally) and when I got her she was so filthy, malnourished, and traumatized the vet wasn't sure she was going to make it as she was also the runt. It's been over 5 years now, and I cherish my little Beep every single day!
