If the polls are roughly correct?

Is there any risk him and Diane Abbott will lose their seats?

WatchingTheMoon · 12/12/2019 23:58

Diane Abbott has a huge majority, over 10,000.

JC even bigger.

They don't put party leaders in marginal seats.

Except maybe the LDs but is Jo Swinson even a serious leader, really? She's a caretaker.

Jillyhilly · 12/12/2019 23:59

It’s not just Corbyn though is it? Even if he stands down, Momentum and this far left nonsense have got a stranglehold on the party and I under the current rules I can’t see what will stop them voting in another unelectable lunatic.

ItalianinLondon · 13/12/2019 00:48

I swear that McDonnell actually had tears in his eyes after the exit poll! Mind you, my sympathy was limited...

ItalianinLondon · 13/12/2019 00:50

Bear in mind that Corbyn's front bench is looking to get a bit of a kicking (Lesley Laird, Laura Pidcock and others losing seats) so his support base in the PLP may well be a bit diminished. And even the semi-loyal ones are going to want somebody to blame. I would be interested to see what Keir Starmer and Emily Thornberry are going to say...

Thelnebriati · 13/12/2019 00:55

I hope he does, and I hope he takes Bromentum with him. If they'd spent less time shouting insults at people they might have won some new voters instead of alienating long standing Socialists.

CrossingTheAlpsInOtley · 13/12/2019 02:05

They weren't very bright though and nor were many of their supporters.

Told time and time again and just ignored it because they kidded themselves that they were somehow superior.

Just a bunch of overgrown bullying teenagers who have had their arse handed to them.

Hopefully they will bugger off, form their own little sad sack party and give Labour back to Labour because most of their supporters aren't 'woke', don't care to know what 'woke' is and want to leave Europe.

He'll be gone by lunchtime, guaranteed.

I like him, I think he's been unfairly smeared at times, but he's just too far left for most people and doesn't appeal to people. He was too weak on Brexit and didn't really make a cohesive argument as to why floating voters should vote Labour.

Painedpleasure · 13/12/2019 02:16

In an interview he said he wouldn't resign if Labour lost.

He should.

CrossingTheAlpsInOtley · 13/12/2019 02:18

If he doesn't, his face would stand cobbling!

I'd love to watch his resignation speech. He's such a stubborn git though. It won't surprise me if he has to be forced out.
