If the polls are roughly correct?

He has failed to deliver for a second time.

So if he does not resign he will be sacked.

Schoolisback1973 · 12/12/2019 22:55

He must resign - He has taken the Labour party backward and too left

selmabear · 12/12/2019 22:55

If the exit polls are correct then yes the probability will be high that he'll step down tomorrow at some point.

BlueEyedBengal · 12/12/2019 22:57

No one wanted to go back to the 70s obviously, looks like the people have sent a message to labour hope they listen, probably not.

keiratwiceknightly · 12/12/2019 22:57

Yvette Cooper will likely lose her seat...

Babybel90 · 12/12/2019 22:59

If he has any integrity, respect for voters and sense of reality then he will resign

He’ll have to be taken out in a box then 🤣

BlueEyedBengal · 12/12/2019 23:00

A lot of the front bench will be quaking in their shoes at this time I think. It will be interesting to see the biggies that will be out of a job tomorrow, but people are fed up so who knows what will happen?

recrudescence · 12/12/2019 23:01

Labour members will decide the next leader and there is no guarantee that they will learn the lesson from Corbyn’s humiliation. I actually think they’re likely to choose the appalling Rebecca L-B.

OxfordCat · 12/12/2019 23:02

Yes, if the exit poll is accurate.

rumandbiscuits · 12/12/2019 23:03

I really hope he does Sad
We need a chance...

ChristmasCroissant · 12/12/2019 23:08

If that exit poll is accurate I hope he does - we need an effective and electable opposition to keep the pressure on the Government. With Boris here and Trump in the USA WTF is happening in politics? I'm obviously out of step with the rest of the country!

I like Yvette Cooper, I hope she doesn't lose her seat.

bluebells1 · 12/12/2019 23:09

He won't. He is a greedy, power hungry old man. Vile.

DonKeyshot · 12/12/2019 23:12

Corbyn won't go voluntarily, and I don''t believe that a vote of no confidence will persuade him to fall on his sword. He'll dig in with his cronies and have to be dragged out kicking and screaming.

I'm wondering whether I've got the stamina to stay up until Islington North declares itself. If Corbyn''s not re-elected he'll have no choice but to console himself with a huge pension plus re-settlement and winding up grants etc.

And just when you think he can't do any more damage than he's already done, there's the somewhat alarming prospect of Lord Corbyn of Simbirsk Chippenham.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 12/12/2019 23:14

He needs to step down immediately. I like him but he's far too controversial to be at the top of the party. I know plenty of people who would have voted Labour but hate him unfortunately. I'm in Scotland, we are very liberal still as country but he is not popular.

BeyondVotesForFlube · 12/12/2019 23:14

Nah he can't - momentum have got his soul

SmileyGiraffe · 12/12/2019 23:18

They picked the wrong Miliband in 2010. They wouldnt have been in this mess had that vote gone the other way and David been PM in 2015. The Steve Miller Band would have done better than Ed.

Shinyletsbebadguys · 12/12/2019 23:18

If they do any research I would hope they see a large number of disenfranchised voters moved to the Tories because they didn't trust Corbyn so hopefully they will see a direct link and pull a no confidence.

I know really quite a lot of people who simply couldn't bring themselves to vote for labour majorly because of Corbyn.

IdblowJonSnow · 12/12/2019 23:19

Hope so. I don't hugely object to him but nearly everyone else obviously does!
Only by having a more centrist Labour will they ever get in again.
Gutted, watching the results now...

JeffreeStar · 12/12/2019 23:20

I doubt it, he’s too arrogant and pig headed for that.

Maybe he can retire to Venezuela? Grin

WatchingTheMoon · 12/12/2019 23:33

"I doubt it, he’s too arrogant and pig headed for that."

See, I just don't get that vibe from him at all. I get that he's not for everybody, but he comes across as pretty generous to me.

Especially compared to Boris, who just seems like a horrible person, both personally and politically. Children by multiple women, while condemning single mothers? He won't even admit to how many children he has! And yet JC is the horrible one? I don't really get it, honestly.

PrincessScarlett · 12/12/2019 23:35

He has to resign. If there's any hope of Labour making a come back Corbyn must go so a decent more likeable leader can be found.

Paintedmaypole · 12/12/2019 23:38

I think he will but not immediately ie tomorrow. I don't think he is arrogant, I think he will be disappointed not to be able to take forward the policies he believes him.

Tigger001 · 12/12/2019 23:48

He will have to if there is any hope for them in a few years.
