If the polls are roughly correct?

Labour's biggest recent mistake was choosing Ed Miliband over David. I don't think that David would have made the kind of stupid mistakes made by Ed and since. I doubt David would be enticed back into UK politics now.

jakeyboy1 · 12/12/2019 22:26

He's so arrogant probably not.

BMW6 · 12/12/2019 22:29

I've voted YABU because I don't believe he will resign (he should though of course)

CatEnabler · 12/12/2019 22:33

No he won't resign... he's too much of a dictator (-russian-) type of personality!

ExCwmbranDweller · 12/12/2019 22:42

I would honestly laugh so hard if my heart wasn't breaking for the PM we will have come morning, if Corbyn is arrogant what the hell is Boris? Fucks sake Grin Sad

bellinisurge · 12/12/2019 22:42

John McDonnell just now, while peddling the "Brexit did for us, otherwise we were brilliant " line did sound like it was a possibility that they'd resign but would wait till the morning.

confusedandemployed · 12/12/2019 22:44

Yes he'll resign. I like him a lot, because you know, I read his policies rather than Murdoch or Rothermere funded rags.

I like his policies (except brexit) but I accept he's divisive.

So bring on Keir Starmer.

MrsBungle · 12/12/2019 22:45

He should. But he won’t.

MrsBungle · 12/12/2019 22:45

So bring on Keir Starmer

Agreed

ManonBlackbeak · 12/12/2019 22:47

He should. I don’t see how he can’t really? Time for someone new at the helm.

Lindy2 · 12/12/2019 22:47

He's far too arrogant. He might be pushed but he won't willingly step aside. Everyone else is always wrong never him.

Pommes · 12/12/2019 22:47

Yvette Cooper for me.
Steamer are close second.

Pommes · 12/12/2019 22:48

*autocorrect does not like Starmer!

Justanotherlurker · 12/12/2019 22:48

It's not for Corbyn to resign, its for his supporters to come out and say it was wrong, therefore we will be in a weird situation where it is considered Corbyn wasn't left wing enough or double down on everyone else being thick and easily led (turkeys voting for christmas), so far it's the latter and no introspection will be applied.

1stmonkey · 12/12/2019 22:49

He should. But no doubt Momentum will just plant another ineffectual prat. The labour party needs to provide an effective opposition. The further they push to the hard left, the more the conservatives will push to the right. The whole mess is fucking the country and it's entirely down to them.

TheoriginalLEM · 12/12/2019 22:49

I kniw its no laughing matter as I am angry and devastated but here is a screen shot of the ad that was on this thread!!

Will Corbyn Resign
gottagetbetter7 · 12/12/2019 22:49

Yes I think he will (and take McDonnell with him) and the process of rebuilding a decent moderate Labour party will begin. They will have plenty of time on their hands to sort it out, so I am hopeful for the next election in 5 year's time!

AlexaShutUp · 12/12/2019 22:49

I wanted Yvette Cooper during the last leadership election. I'd like to see her try again but would be happy to see Keir Starmer take it on as well.

TheoriginalLEM · 12/12/2019 22:50

Pic this time

Will Corbyn Resign
breakfastpizza · 12/12/2019 22:50

Yes, he really must. Keir is my choice, but he needs coaching on his public speaking.

Earlgreybee · 12/12/2019 22:50

I have to say I loathe everything I know about McDonnell and Corbyn mostly because it is so obvious that they are not taking a message to the people that they want to hear. You just CANNOT say to people, ‘oh you’re just to stupid to realise you’re being hoodwinked by murdoch’s smear campaign you poor thick mindless sheep’ and not expect them to dig their heels in even more. That patronising, elitist attitude drives ordinary voters away.

Anyway. I voted for Keir. Bring on Keir. At the very least PMQ will be worth watching.

BlueEyedBengal · 12/12/2019 22:51

I think they will have to crowbar him out of that seat he's wedged into and a bunch of security carry him out. Labour will blame everything but him and will be blind to the remedy that get rid of Jezza and labour will begin to see the light and start to raise again.

WatchingTheMoon · 12/12/2019 22:52

I like Corbyn but he never had a chance in hell of being PM. He should have been gone long ago.

BlueEyedBengal · 12/12/2019 22:53

Can he take Diane Abbot with him?

CrossingTheAlpsInOtley · 12/12/2019 22:53

I think Lady Nugee, aka Emily Thornberry, will get ready to throw herself into the ring.

I sincerely hope she bombs as she is a patronising, 'drop my voice and speak slowly' backstabber, who sometimes tries to flirt with male interviewers, which is quite funny- in a cringy way- to watch.

Yes, to Yvette Cooper.
