Did not want voting...

Because its open until 10pm

Cacaca · 12/12/2019 17:55

It’s your business because? 🙄

easyandy101 · 12/12/2019 17:56

No, because i don't

Parker231 · 12/12/2019 17:58

No - not entitled to.

TooGlamToGiveADamnn · 12/12/2019 17:58

Never have, never will. Because it's my decision.

LeggyLinda · 12/12/2019 17:58

No. For as similar reason as you Grin

InCinemasWednesday · 12/12/2019 18:03

Because it's only 6 'o' clock and I haven't had my tea yet.

KamikazeIdiot · 12/12/2019 18:04

Christ! I hope the people saying "No, because I don't" and "Never have, never will. Because it's my decision" don't have the gall to complain about anything the next government does/doesn't do. So no complaining about the state of schools, hospitals, roads, trains, police services, etc. Because if you can't be arsed to vote there's no reason why anybody else should give a shit about you.

MT2017 · 12/12/2019 18:06

@Cacaca just interested. I don't know anyone who won't be (who is over 18 and fits the criteria) and wondered if that was usual.

Should have posted this after the polling stations shut though.

Who's asking?

KatnissMellark · 12/12/2019 18:07

Yes, I always do. Had to hold my nose to do it though. No one I wanted to vote for. Was very torn and tempted to spoil my ballot but decided against it.

blankblankblanknk · 12/12/2019 18:08

let us leave the EU.

bookgirl1982 · 12/12/2019 18:13

No, there's no one I can bring myself to vote for. Seat is safe Tory so it doesn't make a difference.

Other parties (lab, lib, green) are all pro-self ID.

The independent candidate is really a brexit party rep.

JadeDragon23 · 12/12/2019 18:13

No.

There’s no one I wanted to vote for. I gave it a lot of thought and there’s no ‘can’t be bothered’ here.

It it wasn’t for Swinson and her ridiculous gender self ID malarkey I’d have voted Lib Dem - but hell would freeze over before I voted for them now 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I abstained.

Butterfly005 · 12/12/2019 18:14

No, I don't vote. Because I find politics extremely confusing and would never know who to vote for - everyone seems to have strong reasons for voting or not voting for each party. I don't want to sway the results that everyone else has done a lot of thinking over, when I don't really know what I want. I can't stand people saying "people died so you could vote" - they did and it's amazing, but they died so we'd have a choice, not so that we'd feel forced into voting (just like before we were forced into not voting).

RibenaMonsoon · 12/12/2019 18:17

Yes I did. But its none of your business. Would you still be bugging me to vote if I was voting for a party you disliked?

Graphista · 12/12/2019 18:17

I wanted to and registered for a postal vote but I'm housebound and can't get out to post it and the person who was meant to do this let me down last min.

I'm wondering if someone can take my postal vote to the polling station for me if I can find someone to do that? Is that allowed?

I'm even debating taking some Valium and braving the 2 min walk to the polling station but I'm not even sure if I can do it that way? And not sure how that would affect me I've not left house in almost 2 years.

I hate the thought of missing out!

I'm even debating whether to call local candidate I'd be voting for and seeing if they are allowed to collect and submit - does anyone know? Can anyone answer that for me?

Obviouspretzel · 12/12/2019 18:20

I think you can drop them off at the polling station.

Mintjulia · 12/12/2019 18:23

Yes, 7.13amTory

EmrysAtticus · 12/12/2019 18:24

Call the local branch of the party you have voted for Graphista, they should be able to advise and will offer lifts etc.

Renoirsdancer · 12/12/2019 18:27

@graphista you can drop it off at the polling station. Call your local party, they usually have volunteers to do this kind of thing (my DH does) if the party you're voting for doesn't do it, ask another one they won't ask you who you're voting for!

Mammabear31 · 12/12/2019 18:28

No, but only because I'm laid up in bed with d&v. Have never missed a vote and gutted I cant go today.

duffeldaisy · 12/12/2019 18:29

I used to get mind-blown and frustrated by people that "have no interest in politics" or don't vote.
But then I figured that the fact that they don't care enough about society around them to vote for policies affecting health, education, housing, distribution of resources, etc. means that they will vote badly in elections, so it's best if they do decide not to vote.

AllergicToAMop · 12/12/2019 18:30

@KamikazeIdiot absolutely agree with you. My dad used to say that if you don't vote, you have no right to moan.
I have a valid excuse now sadly.

Re the "no point, safe seat". I heard so many people say it in my area that I am actually starting to be sure that if people went and voted for who they actually wanted there would be quite a few surprisesShock
