Travelling back from holiday, won't make it back in time

NameChangeNugget · 12/12/2019 19:36

I haven’t yet as I’ve been at work

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 19:52

I have voted.

As a woman, women died for the privilege

And as for saying "I don't understand politics"

Only acceptable if you have learning difficulties or a very low IQ

Choosing to be wilfully ignorant and not educate yourself? Hoe embarrassing.

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 19:53

Typo How/Hoe but it still works 😂

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 12/12/2019 21:05

Yes. I always do and think its really, really important to.

However, i don't judge people who haven't done, purely because there isn't a reasonable way for voters to communicate that there is no acceptable candidate. I would like to see an option for RON (re-open nomination) on ballot papers.

Thank you for your expert opinion - I must be a bit thick then. Or I have chosen not to educate myself further cos politics doesn't really interest me? We all have areas that we lack knowledge in.

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 23:01

So the amount your childrens school gets doesn't interest you?

The pension you'll have to live on doesn't interest you?

The amount of tax you pay doesn't interest you?

How long you have to wait in a hospital, whether that hospital is to standard, whether there's a bed for you and whether or not your care is free at the point of use doesn't interest you?

The closure of Libraries and SureStart Centres doesn't interest you?

The future of the country you live in doesn't interest you?

Good for you, but all of that IS Politics I'm afraid, so if you are content to have no voice in these things, go ahead and enjoy your ignorance or you can you know, engage in society and grow up a bit.

Butterfly005 · 12/12/2019 23:06

Brilliant thanks GrinSO helpful...

Cherrysoup · 12/12/2019 23:18

Of course. I think it’s a social responsibility, something significant that should be done, I want to express my opinion and honour the women who fought so hard to allow me to do this.

Parkmama · 12/12/2019 23:32

No I didn't, I almost did but in the end I didn't. I felt irresponsible voting tbh as I don't feel properly educated on all the policies and the consequences of these and so therefore can't hand on heart be sure who I should vote for. It's a shame, I feel fortunate enough to be able to vote, so many citizens in the world are not fortunate enough for the opportunity . . . but it still doesn't change that it's all terribly confusing!

MrsandMrsonedaysoon · 13/12/2019 01:23

I wanted to but we had to register by the 26th to vote and I moved house via a mutual exchange on the 30th and the move wasn’t guaranteed untill 28th when we Did the deed of assignment. I don’t quite know how the rules surrounding my circumstances worked.
