Not really AIBU but... I’ve just had a sofa delivered from Next. Not sure I particularly like the colour now it’s here. Can I exchange it does anyone know?

Put a throw on it

slashlover · 12/12/2019 16:38

Was it customised in any way?

happystory · 12/12/2019 16:44

You'll probably like it in a day or two, what a faff to send it back...

Apolloanddaphne · 12/12/2019 16:51

You can't if it was a custom order. A quick google of their policy tells you what you need to know.

Which items can't be returned?
We want our customers to be happy with their purchases and aim to be fair and accommodating with regards to returns. But unfortunately, some of our items are non refundable (unless faulty). These items are listed below:

Made to order items, food & alcohol gifts, and flowers.
For hygiene reasons, all underwear and swimwear products that no longer contain the hygiene seal (such as individual briefs, bikini briefs, female swimsuits and men’s swimming trunks and briefs), opened packs of men or women’s underwear, all cosmetics and grooming products, certain jewellery, (for example pierced earrings), mattresses, mattress toppers, divans, duvets and pillows.
Self-assembly furniture cannot be returned if assembly is part or fully completed.
Any product with a security seal, (such as CDs, DVDs and other technology products), cannot be refunded or exchanged if the seal is broken.
Gift Cards and Vouchers cannot be returned, or exchanged for cash.

Check on the sofas labels, cushions and on the main body for the colour reference. It may be the wrong colour?

Or it could be the lighting, it's been very miserable and overcast today.

bridgetreilly · 12/12/2019 17:23

If it's not a custom order AND you bought it online, then yes, you can return it. You will have to pay for the return costs, though. If you bought it in store, they may let you exchange it, though they don't have to. If it's a custom order, you're stuck with it, unless there's an actual fault. Not liking the colour is not a fault.

bridgetreilly · 12/12/2019 17:24

Sorry, I didn't mean exchange (though they might), I meant return.

Roselilly36 · 12/12/2019 17:29

If the sofa is the colour you ordered, I very doubt you can return it, I had a friend with a similar issue with another retailer.

Sparklyring · 12/12/2019 17:49

You can return it but there's a £30 collection fee as long as its within 14 days and not used. You'll have been given a copy of the t&c with your order.
