To be fed up of Michael Bublé’s ‘Christmas’?

I can’t stand this album, Bland, stripped of energy and personality, with pretty much all songs delivered in this faux-jaunty, smooth style.

Went to a lovely hotel last week and they were playing it on repeat in the lounge. Suffice to say we won’t be returning there this time next year.

I'll be sure to let him know you don't like his album.

Yes he's no Chet Baker but he seems nice and his son was very ill. He used to be much better years ago.

I suppose it is not "unreasonable" but I personally disagree with your taste... Michael Buble is a wonderful singer, though I can see how one would find him annoying. You have to be in the right mood to listen to his music, I suppose... Lol. :]

I agree with you.

I can't stand the smarmy, sleazy, cheater of a man.

That's the standard with Christmas albums, it would seem, though. Somebody must like them, but I can't imagine who.

There's always a huge attempt to cash in entertain audiences in the approach to Christmas - the same old people singing the same old songs in the same old cheesy, emotionless styles. It obviously sells, though - whether that's through being bought as earnestly requested presents or as quickly-grabbed 'that'll do for grandma' gifts is a different matter....

I've said before on other threads, but the one I really cannot understand the popularity of is Daniel O'Donnell. He has an OK-enough voice, but he puts no emotion whatsoever into any of his recordings and actually just sounds bored throughout.

If some of these entertainers were part of the live cabaret experience on a cruise ship, I'd understand it a bit more; but when you're just playing a CD or listening on YouTube/Spotify/whatever, why would you choose a pale imitation when the actual original artist is just as readily available to listen to?

It certainly is jaunty! I also can't stand listening to him.

Not that this has anything to do with it, but his wife absolutely stunning!
