baby grows with poppers on the back are ridiculous for young babies

Who thought that would be a good idea for young babies? I get it for older children as they may try undo them but 6 months and under just makes changing clothes so much harder than it needs to be!

I dont think I've seen any like that

GailLondon · 11/12/2019 21:41

Turn them round? 🤣

I hadn’t until I ordered two multipacks from mama and papas and each set had one that has buttons all the way up the back but you couldn’t tell from the photo. I’ve attempted it once. Never again.

I remember thinking this with DC1! Pop baby face down on your lap (making sure their face isn’t buried in it) and it’s actually fine though, and they can be used. Bit of simultaneous tummy time and neck strengthening Grin

YANBU. Someone bought DD a lovely baby grow with poppers on the back. It was exactly my taste but couldn't figure out how to get it on her, so she never wore it. Hmm They spend all their time lying on their back at that age anyway, how uncomfortable even if you do get it on.

id prefer it, mine crawls/walks and buggers off. be easier

My son got some as gifts when he was first born from France I think, with poppers at the back and while they were gorgeous they were totally impractical and he hardly wore them. He was the most wriggly baby right from birth.

Bit of tummy time! :)

It's better than the ones that are entirely buttons.

andpancakesforbreakfast · 11/12/2019 22:41

never had an issue with them.

Poppers at the bottom on vests however, instead of a wraparound for a newborn or young baby doesn't make sense to me at all.

Not a problem when they're in 0-3 or 3-6 months though!

An abiding memory after the birth of my first baby was a visit from someone or other, SSAAFA maybe, and she was telling me of one newborn who always had tiny bruises on her chest and it was only when she watched the mother dress the baby that she realised that the mother was pressing the poppers into the baby rather than lifting them!
