Reading another thread in here made me remember something my son said to me the other week. He's just four and started school this time. (I know it's December but as he's an August baby I still think of him as being young)
He's been a bit unsettled recently and ended up in our bed a few times usually falling straight to sleep until morning.
I sleep with earplugs in so I often wake up and he's just there.
Turns out he and his older sisters don't come to my side of the bed because they know I will get up and take them back to bed. So they creep round to their dads side and he just lifts the covers and they crawl in! I have to admit it made me laugh but then feel a bit sad!
It's true though. I'd end up taking them back to bed and staying with them until they settled and probably staying awake far longer than then.

If I leave my 8 year old in the kitchen doing homework he’ll ask Alexa for the answers Grin cheeky little git! He’s very bright, has no issues with doing the sums he’s given, obviously he takes after me on work ethic Wink

My children would regulary come into the "big bed" at that age. It was no big deal to us.A cuddle and we would sleep like a pile of puppies.

My DD did have some little tricks at that age.
If there was a open box of chocholates at christmas time she would take a nibble from each one to find one she liked. If it wasn't to her taste she would put it back in place. So it was quite usual to take a chocolate and find the corner nibbled.
She also like to lick the salt from pistachio nuts, but not eat them. So again if there was a bowl or a pack of pistachio nuts anyone taking a handful would find them a little damp and lacking in salt, having been pre- sucked and put back in the bowl.

You aren't alone, I do exactly the same and my kids go to their dads side first too! I just can't sleep with a tetchy child between us but a couple of times he's let them in and they've settled fast enough that I don't notice til I wake up to gusty snoring right in my face or a sweaty snuggle or something. If they're sound enough asleep, I'll always carry them back to their own beds.

My boys sneak downstairs and steal the cushions from the settee and then pile them into the bed with them.
I’ve heard conversations between them “Now (brother) we need to be quiet ninjas so dad doesn’t catch us.” 😆
