WTF? This isn't supposed to be possible due to possibility of influencing the vote. Laura Kuensberg has also said that.postal votes are showing things look grim for Labour. has someone changed the rules? AIBU to complain bitterly about this?

Well if anything it might galanise people to vote Labour!

noblegiraffe · 11/12/2019 17:32

Maybe he was looking to see if he needed to write some job applications, but I’m sure an MP was told off for doing something similar last time.

noblegiraffe · 11/12/2019 17:33

Here, she was investigated by the police because it’s illegal

There’s actually a statement on elmbridge website about this. What Raab was referring to, apparently, were the door step canvassing. Postal votes aren’t counted until the 12th

You can read the statement here

Bluntness100 · 11/12/2019 17:37

Can you link that? I can't see where he has said that.

Bluntness100 · 11/12/2019 17:39

Sorry cross posted with adore, that makes sense because i certainly couldn't see where he had said he'd had a look at postal votes.

So basically another nothing to see here thread?

longwayoff · 11/12/2019 17:41

Sorry bluntness, I can't link from phone, is ref Twitter name tronaldodumpo #GTTO Google that with Raab you should find it.

And I'd have thought that Esher and Walton was a true blue constituency so definitely nothing to see here.

Not sure what Laura K is going on about though.

bridgetreilly · 11/12/2019 17:42

I suppose it would be possible to do a survey asking people with postal votes how they voted. But it would be about as accurate as most polls, which is to say not at all.

longwayoff · 11/12/2019 17:43

Very surprising that a politician of Raabs experience can't help the difference between a doorstep and a postal vote but your choice.

diamantegal · 11/12/2019 17:44

Lib Dems are out in force in Esher - it's such a strong Remain area they think they've got a chance. Daily mail drops etc. and lots of boards out.

No idea how likely it really is though - he had a 23,000 majority of something at the last election.

noblegiraffe · 11/12/2019 17:45

And I'd have thought that Esher and Walton was a true blue constituency

No, there’s rumours that Raab may lose his seat. Polling is very close.

Jimmers · 11/12/2019 17:51

Raab is the most odious, unctuous turd in politics surely. Just reading his name makes a bit of vomit come up.

Jimmers · 11/12/2019 17:52

(Missed the point if the thread sorry Grin)

fedup21 · 11/12/2019 17:56

Laura Kuenssberg is no journalist-she is a bloody shambles.

longwayoff · 11/12/2019 17:57

Perfectly valid observation @Jimmers

OP posts:
InglouriousBasterd · 11/12/2019 17:59

Laura K definitely talked about this earlier on Politics Live - made out it was a bit naughty but said labour stats looked ‘grim’

longwayoff · 11/12/2019 18:08

I hope they both get taken to court.
