to wish shops and businesses would display their street numbers...

... along with their names? Some do, but an awful lot don't. Immediate issue is that I wanted to report something to my local council, and they always want the nearest street address, to help them find the problem. None of the nearby shops had a number displayed. More generally, it makes it hard to find a particular address in a non-residential street if you can't tell which way the numbers run.

I don't know business where you couldn't find an address in under 1 min on google

Well, the business in question here is a chippie which doesn't have a website. I looked. So Google wasn't the answer in this case. And why should I, or anyone else, have to resort to Google for information that should be available on the spot?

Then the chippie has it on their printed menu. So people can find them.
I do get what you mean though

Houses without numbers are worse. Bane of my life.

Yes!! It drives me nuts when you are looking for a specific place and know their number but no other shops or offices have one so you have no context. Oxford Street is a nightmare for this!

Yes, it's very frustrating! Also, please post your opening times in the window so that I know when to get out and leave your staff to close up!

YANBU. You can't find my dentist very easily on google, not even with street view. Its in a row of identical houses.
