And you don’t need ID either. Not yet.

I think you do need ID in some areas! But yes most you don't need anything you just rock up

Thethiniceofanewday · 10/12/2019 22:57

Sorry. Yes, you need ID in Northern Ireland.

I said this to DH and he said he always takes his card now as one year he was asked if he'd postal voted...

DontLookBackIntoTheSun · 10/12/2019 23:00

And you don’t need to tell the people sitting outside what your voter number is

Stillamum3 · 10/12/2019 23:11

No, you don't need your card, but having worked as a Polling Clerk a few times, it does make things a lot easier for them to find you on the list! I never used to take mine with me before, but now I do! Just saying......

Roundtoedshoes · 10/12/2019 23:19

I misplaced mine once and you’d have thought I was a naughty kid when I got there - they were disappointed (and I was mildly amused - it took me the same amount of time to say my name and address, they just got all flustered for some bizarre reason)!

Thethiniceofanewday · 10/12/2019 23:22

Absolutely, still - if it’s to hand then take it, but I’ve been reading some polls that say a lot of people don’t realise if they’ve lost the card they can still vote.
