Rude or not?

I might just be hormonal but a friend/former colleague got in touch to say that she and someone else leaked something to the press. We were whistleblowers a few years ago. They included my statements from back then without asking me first. I explained that i really should have had a choice to be involved with this again or not, and that it's not a great time for additional stress as I'm 5 months pregnant.
Her comment was: "Congratulations, if that's appropriate"
I'm really super annoyed with that. I'm 40 years old. What does she think.. Am I crazy?
How can I respond without coming across as bitchy?

Its a bit of an odd comment. Why WOULDNT it be appropriate? Maybe she wasnt sure if that baby was planned? Still an odd comment though. Id just ask why it wouldnt be appropriate.

And yeah, I think they should have asked you if you consented to having your statements used

What are you annoyed about, the press thing or the comment?
The first yanbu, the second, a bit clumsy wording bit ultimately couldn't hey worked up about it

I’d assume she meant “congratulations, if that’s appropriate that I’m saying that when you’re cross at me”

I dont think it is rude. Bit clumsy yes. Not the best way to word it. But not deliberately rude/worth pulling her up for.
