Asda delivery cancelled am worried about re delivery

Hi. So just as it says. Payment taken today but delivery failed. Affer chasing them all day they finally told me the van broke down and agreed to delivery tomorrow.

But I have had the email and it seems they have just re issued the order from scratch. It even says I can amend it.

They're going to take payment again, aren't they? And refund me for today later. I can't afford for them to do this.

Anyone had this with Asda? What do they do in this situation?
Thanks

No idea why there is a voting button. Sorry.

Wait and see if they take a second payment first.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 10/12/2019 20:39

Phone your bank and get them to block payments to Asda.

Splenny · 10/12/2019 20:41

Can you transfer money to another account for the day?

70sWitch · 10/12/2019 20:53

I don't have to. There's only enough in there for a DD due out tomorrow. If they try to take payment ill go overdrawn and still won't have any food

Guess I may have to stop the payment and wait until they refund me.

70sWitch · 11/12/2019 08:15

Well. They did try to take the money again. I'm furious and switching to Sainsbury.

Asda do seem to piss a lot of people off lately. My Asda delivery was over an hour late (wasn't an issue as I was in all day anyways) and delivery driver said the reason he was late was because they muddled up 2 deliveries and accidentally swapped them over and had to rectify it.

An hour I could have lived with Grin

They WILL be hearing from me.

They did it with me.. took the payment twice after failing to deliver and then finally getting it back in my bank about 10 days later and then they did it again on my next shop and their 'sorry' was a £5 voucher to use on my next shop..

GiveHerHellFromUs · 11/12/2019 08:37

That's outrageous. Pisses me off that they take money immediately but take ages to refund as well, but in the run up to Christmas you'd think they'd use a bit of common sense.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 11/12/2019 08:40

Asda are notorious for this, they have been for years. Their payment system is woefully outdated.

BalsamicVin · 11/12/2019 08:41

This happened to me once, and they did the exact same thing and took another payment, I'll be honest, it took over 2 days to sort out...and by that I just mean with customer services not having a bloody clue what they were doing, unsympathetic and being passed round like a parcel.

Good luck OP and I hope you get it sorted!

Ooh i did get a little £5 E-voucher which infuriated me more Grin

canyoutekkllxxxxxxx · 11/12/2019 08:47

Same happened me I no longer use them

Vagndidit · 11/12/2019 08:50

Asda are horrible for this. I gave them up years ago for a similar issue. Sainsbury is far more reliable. In fact, I had a late delivery on Monday and the driver called immediately when it was clear he wouldn't make it within the hour.

70sWitch · 11/12/2019 08:54

Yes. I used to use Sainsbury. Regretting changing now. They don't take payment till aftet the shop is picked and once, when my payment failed, they rocked up at my door with my shopping anyway and gave me a chance to fix ir. Much better.

Asda just cancel and don't even bother to let you know.

DH (who actually works in customer service) rang them and gave them a lesson in proper customer service lol. He got me a whole tenner. Grin.
He'll be after them again later about this. I'd hate to be the poor sod he talks to

Asda are dreadful. They once brought me someone else’s entire shop and then refused to bring mine because they didn’t have enough time. Also took weeks to get a refund for that! Sainsbury’s or Ocado are much better.

northernlittledonkey · 11/12/2019 08:58

We use Morrison’s via Ocado & I cant fault them & their delivery

70sWitch · 11/12/2019 09:00

I did once get a random bag of cheese from Asda. Was very weird but meh. It was free. And we like cheese.

BalsamicVin · 11/12/2019 09:04

Yep that's another thing, the never let you know if they've cancelled it! You have to do some investigating to find out.

Lovelostnfoundx · 11/12/2019 09:09

We also had two bags of someone else’s shopping delivered before and they were tragically unhelpful. First promised later that day and had to call again when it didn’t turn up. As a previous poster said, they didn’t have time. Waited in for the next day delivery and still nothing and all they offered was a refund.

The final straw was our click and collect order where we went into the store and used the self service. After 35 minutes no one had come so we asked an assistant who told us it wasn’t their job to do the collections. Then the person whose job it was came and told us the machines were broken and usually people go to the drive through collection so no one knew we were there. So it was our fault! To add insult to injury, there were fresh items out of date and a large amount of other fresh items had to be eaten the next day.

Would rather pay extra and get a decent (and most importantly, reliable!) service.

70sWitch · 11/12/2019 09:56

I get wound up by the amount of (often ridiculous) subs too.

I won't miss them actually.

OP posts:
Slumberly · 11/12/2019 10:02

I use Tesco and they're generally really good. Occasionally late but mostly on time, very few subs, never had an issue with duplicate payments etc.
