OMG - I’ve just watched “Good Morning Britain” for the first time

Is this nonsense on every morning?? This hideous, vile individual, Piers Morgan - sorry, but why?? How is he in a job? They were taking about some absolute crap (whether you should be able to use the phrase “When the fat lady sings”) and he was literally bellowing over the two women sitting next to him and the two guests. Just shouting over them! This is ITV. I presume it’s the same every morning. Can’t bear the man and it’s certainly not “Good Morning” to anyone when he’s on first thing. The blonde presenter next to him hasn’t got a word in edgeways for twenty minutes. Why is nobody complaining about this tosser? Can’t stand men like this. Even DH said he’s a fool. I had no idea.

It's Netmum central.

Xxx, 😀💕❣️

The reason why they keep Piers on is because he courts controversy. In the same way that Jeremy Kyle used to make everyone feel inferior and talk down to them and inflame the situation to make the guests kick off, this is what Piers does.

Jeremy Kyle was bad insomuch that they used vulnerable people as the backbone of the show. Piers gets away with what he says and how he says it because this is the reason people turn on the telly. Because they like arguments and shouting.

What good would a soap be for example if everyone was calm and got on with everyone else? No one would watch it - they would die of boredom. I don't care who you are or what walk of life you come from, everyone enjoys a good shouting match from time to time.

LagunaBubbles · 10/12/2019 13:15

We are two days away from an election, yet you tune in to GMB at 8am and what are they talking about - “Is it ok to use the word “fat” in an expression such as, “The show ain’t over til the fat lady sings?

You can't slate something for not having election coverage if you don't watch regularly and it's just a snapshot. I have it on every morning getting ready for work and they have tons of election coverage.

BAISum6367 · 10/12/2019 13:18

The same reason people like Jeremy Kyle, because he used to court controversy. This is what people like, they enjoy tuning in to see a shouting match. It's human nature, no matter what walk of life you come from. JK did it wrong imho. He used people, vulnerable people and that was wrong. But it did make interesting viewing.

Imagine watching Emmerdale or Corrors and no one shouts, everyone is pleasant to everyone else and everyone gets on with everyone else. What kind of boring show would that be. They would have no viewers.

Equanimitas · 10/12/2019 13:20

at least he grills the pathetic politicians properly and doesn’t let them get away with their lame attempts to give direct answers.

Only the ones he personally disagrees with - he brown-noses around the others. And his "grilling" isn't effective because he doesn't bother to do his homework.

purpleleotard · 10/12/2019 13:39

Just turn the TV OFF

cuparfull · 10/12/2019 13:51

He gives me indigestion. Shut the f....k up and let's hear from reasonable folk. Life's confrontational enough without stirring up viewers before the trek to work. IMO JK was disgusting and the production team worse.... just raking in the advertising pounds. Where has kindness gone?

Lookingforpizza · 10/12/2019 13:53

He's contrarian for contrarian sake in my opinion. He does well out of it after all...

RaquelWelch · 10/12/2019 14:00

Yep! It's like that every day. OH always sticks it on and I am only in the room for around 5 minutes in the morning, but he gives me a headache and puts me in a mood. It's as if the woman presenters are just there to give wry smiles and pull faces to the camera when he rants and talks over everyone! Aaarrrrrrggghhhhh

Lilikemaho · 10/12/2019 16:29

Love peirs Morgan says it as it is

Elbeagle · 10/12/2019 16:37

as he thinks^ it is

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 10/12/2019 16:39

I watch BBC Breakfast until we leave for school, then I'm out until 11, then on the internet. Simple.

MitziK · 10/12/2019 16:50

I wouldn't be able to bear Odious Morgan before a morning Valium, never mind a coffee.

It's what you get when you put the telly on before about 7pm.

Stick to R3 - it's a far more civilised way to start the day.

OceanVillage · 10/12/2019 17:21

Itv is shite and he's an absolute bellend. Suzanne totally sold herself out moving to be PMs moll.

cla1re80 · 10/12/2019 18:31

I absolutely love Piers, he is straight talking, is not afraid to ask awkward questions and can laugh at himself. He is excellent at debates and ruffles feathers without getting too personal. I like the fact he's not a "sheep" and sticks to his opinions. He has to shout over some of the guests as they waffle on that much to run down the time. He doesn't stand for people talking crap to his face and trying to delude the public. It's a shame you can't enjoy GMB as what a laugh Monday- Wednesday when he is on.

Lllot5 · 10/12/2019 18:44

They must be paying Suzanne an absolute fortune to put up with it.

ForalltheSaints · 10/12/2019 18:56

OP- your title was incomplete- shouldn't it have said 'first and last time'.?

BrusselPout · 10/12/2019 19:54

*It’s why I have not watched GM Britain since he started. That and the adverts every five minutes.

I think he is an arrogant, entitled, misogynistic, self serving, self publicising numpty.*

This! I used to watch every day but after about two weeks of him shouting over everyone he interviewed I couldn't be arsed.

SnugglySnerd · 10/12/2019 19:58

Thank goodness the only thing I ever have to watch in the morning is Bing on iplayer. Piers could learn a lot from Flop Grin
