OMG - I’ve just watched “Good Morning Britain” for the first time

Is this nonsense on every morning?? This hideous, vile individual, Piers Morgan - sorry, but why?? How is he in a job? They were taking about some absolute crap (whether you should be able to use the phrase “When the fat lady sings”) and he was literally bellowing over the two women sitting next to him and the two guests. Just shouting over them! This is ITV. I presume it’s the same every morning. Can’t bear the man and it’s certainly not “Good Morning” to anyone when he’s on first thing. The blonde presenter next to him hasn’t got a word in edgeways for twenty minutes. Why is nobody complaining about this tosser? Can’t stand men like this. Even DH said he’s a fool. I had no idea.

I love Piers Morgan, he’s the only reason I watch it. I am neither low-brow or dumbed down Hmm
You know how to change the channel right? Nobody is forcing you to watch it ffs.

Stayingstrong24 · 10/12/2019 09:13

Thank God for Cbeebies!

ethelredonagoodday · 10/12/2019 09:15

I think I had the misfortune to see it once. Never again. Radio 6 for me, or failing that, bbc news, but even that is dubious now...

Newbie1999 · 10/12/2019 09:16

@BustedDreams Don’t forget King of Queens!

HowlsMovingBungalow · 10/12/2019 09:18

Radio 6 here too, ALL daytime tv is dire but ITV is especially awful - I agree with the Take A Break 'style' - it is embarressing.

OrangeCinnamon · 10/12/2019 09:32

Lets be honest Piers like Katie Hopkins is just a self made caricature, they are particularly odious, arrogant and confrontational because it gets them money and attention. The world would be much better off without their contributions but this is the 'culture' we live in today. Switch over and switch out.

PhilSwagielka · 10/12/2019 09:43

@Jillyhilly Whingeing about trans people all the time is not 'standing up for women'. He's quite happy to go on the attack against women he doesn't like. Greta Thunberg and Meghan Markle are sharing a condo in his head.

Piers Morgan makes a living out of being a malicious twat but I'm not surprised people on here like him. i mean, he's ~just saying what everyone is thinking~. Also, his takes on Arsenal are atrocious. Wanting Wenger sacking one minute and tonguebathing him the next.

SpiderCharlotte · 10/12/2019 09:48

I can't watch Piers Morgan. He's one of the very few people who just makes me angry by looking at his smug, fucking irritating face.

Sometimedaisy · 10/12/2019 09:50

I stopped watching tv years ago starting with question time and followed by the BBC generally. I live an active life and prefer to be actually doing something rather than being programmed.

f00k · 10/12/2019 09:51

Has ITV in general turned to trash?

ITV has always been trash. Apart from one or two good dramas, it's all reality shit or absolutely anything with a Z-list celebrity.

I would sometimes have GMTV on in the morning when DS was getting ready for school. I stopped when it changed to GMB. I can't stand Piers Morgan. This Morning is just as bad. Give me Homes Under the Hammer any day Grin

cosima1 · 10/12/2019 09:53

Well I’m glad to hear the blonde lady is the newsreader, but tbh, to anyone tuning in for the first time, it just appears that there are two attractive women placed either side of this twat of a man to make him look good and to smile at his rants. That’s how it appears. Surely the other woman with the dark hair must complain about him all the time? How does she cope? And if the lady with the blonde hair is the newsreader, why doesn’t she have a desk? Why does she have to sit next to that?

It’s the worst of Britain condensed into an hour )or two). Ugh.

I agree. and dont even mention Susanna Reid, face like a slapped arse, talking over everyone normally or just sitting there pulling a face like she smelled a fart.

Saddler · 10/12/2019 09:56

He's great, takes no nonsense and tells it like it is

SpiderCharlotte · 10/12/2019 09:59

He's great, takes no nonsense and tells it like it is

No, he 'tells' it as he sees it. That's not how it 'is'. Some people agree with him, some don't.

I can't abide this 'oh I just tell the truth and everyone else is thinking it' shite.

Have you seen some of his Tweets? He's frequently re-tweeted for the sheer awfulness of some of his statements.

Lllot5 · 10/12/2019 09:59

@PineappleDanish
I agree completely I only ever watch Lewis endeavour etc and then only in the hub.
Definitely dumbed down.

SquareAsABlock · 10/12/2019 10:02

He's great, takes no nonsense and tells it like it is

Like one of those awful people who say 'I'm just being honest' to excuse whatever vile, ignorant bilge that comes out of their mouths? They're just gobshites who think their opinions are the only ones that matter. Just like PM.

CSIblonde · 10/12/2019 10:04

The bellowing just makes me tune out even if occasionally he nails an issue. The only decent presenters on their morning schedule are Ruth, Rylan & Alison Hammond. Holly & Phil are smug & too manufactured, Lorraine is there as they see her as 'relatable' to what they perceive as their "dim housewife" demographic. (not that those at home are, but that's what I suspect they see viewers as).

MsPepperPotts · 10/12/2019 10:11

I have never watched morning TV...was working full time for 35years then I retired and still could not bring myself to watch it on any channel.
I do remember being off with the flu once many years ago and watching Richard and Judy a couple of mornings but that's been about it.
I was more of a Radio 2 fan in the mornings on the drive to work with Terry WoganSmile

scoobydoo1971 · 10/12/2019 10:14

Shameful that any media channel would give Piers Morgan a job in any capacity given his career history in newspaper editing. In any other profession, he would have been struck off for gross misconduct. Revolting human being, and anyone watching TV shows presented by him are just sponsoring his bullying and devious character. Glad I don't watch TV anymore as the mere vision of him makes me shiver.

peachescariad · 10/12/2019 10:18

Love PM - he doesn't take any woke shit.

Elbeagle · 10/12/2019 10:23

He's great, takes no nonsense and tells it like it is

Funny, because I think he talks an absolute load of horse shit. He tells is how he thinks it is. We don’t all agree.

Elbeagle · 10/12/2019 10:24

One of those people who thinks his word is god... ‘I call a spade a spade’ types.

cosima1 · 10/12/2019 10:30

We are two days away from an election, yet you tune in to GMB at 8am and what are they talking about - “Is it ok to use the word “fat” in an expression such as, “The show ain’t over til the fat lady sings?” confused] This is apparently because a judge in Strictly Come Dancing recently used this phrase.

I only turned over because all the BBC are doing is going round various shopping centres with a tea van, dragging randoms (usually pensioners) out of bus stops to give their blinding perspectives on who to vote for. It really annoyed me the other day when they grabbed some man who clearly had learning difficulties (and he was wearing big tiger paws), just to ask him who he was voting for, to which he replied he didn’t know. I mean, what is the point of televising that? Also, they spent a week in Stoke-on-Trent - why??

"ITV has always been trash."

We weren't allowed to watch ITV as kids, then my dad decided the BBC was just as bad & got rid of the TV Grin

(no TV licence here so my children aren't allowed to watch it either - they do watch lots of horrendous youtube shite though)

AutumnRose1 · 10/12/2019 10:42

I've not watched morning TV since I escaped my parents house 25 years ago! I think it was Frank Bough then.

You need a good dose of dance music before work. Well, I do Grin
