OMG - I’ve just watched “Good Morning Britain” for the first time

Is this nonsense on every morning?? This hideous, vile individual, Piers Morgan - sorry, but why?? How is he in a job? They were taking about some absolute crap (whether you should be able to use the phrase “When the fat lady sings”) and he was literally bellowing over the two women sitting next to him and the two guests. Just shouting over them! This is ITV. I presume it’s the same every morning. Can’t bear the man and it’s certainly not “Good Morning” to anyone when he’s on first thing. The blonde presenter next to him hasn’t got a word in edgeways for twenty minutes. Why is nobody complaining about this tosser? Can’t stand men like this. Even DH said he’s a fool. I had no idea.

Try Radio 4 instead of daytime telly.

Crying about a vegan sausage roll isn't the same as 'not taking any woke shit'. He's just a conservative snowflake, thinks everything should have stayed the same since his childhood, hes no different to the Tumblr 'everyone needs to be special' type snowflake, different ends of the same line.

What do you expect to see on ITV?

Their audience profile is downmarket, tabloid reading & celebrity obsessed. They serve that market well, and sell that demographic to their customers, the advertisers.

If you want something a bit more interesting in the mornings, try Radio 4.

I used to work for ITV many moons ago, and although it was never classy, it's definitely gone downhill now. I think their output is now very tabloid, and has no depth at all, which is why they've got Piers Morgan in.

He's a revolting individual; dresses up his bigoted views as "standing up for the working classes" etc etc.

ITV does still make quality drama, thank goodness, but the rest of it is utter lightweight crap.

I can't stand Piers Morgan but is the Today show any better?

Admittedly I haven't listened since John Humphrys left but he was just as much of a tool as PM.

I don't mind PM but I don't think he is right for early morning viewing - the shouting is far too much for me to digest in the morning. I also hate the way he shouts over Susanna but I also think she is quite aggressive too. My children have commented several times about why the other woman just sits there and doesn't contribute anything.

I have a soft spot for Rylan. Gawd knows why, as he irritate the heck out of me initially.

Don't get me started on Lorraine - why is she still on TV? I don't think she can interview very well, she answers her own questions for a start!

I think the worst thing about him is that he probably doesn't believe most of what he says, but he knows it will get reactions from two groups- first the people who secretly harbour really repulsive views and him voicing whatever opinions he pretends to have gives them courage to be more openly obnoxious. Then there are the people who provide the publicity for him by loudly decrying his "views" on whatever it is.
He wins and we are cursed with his abhorrent presence until someone else does it better.

YANBU. I can't stand Piers Morgan, particularly before I've even had a decent coffee. I've not watched GMB since he's been on, though I didn't know he was only on Mon-Weds so I might give it another try on a Thurs/Fri morning.
I don't know how Susanna Reid went from working with lovely Bill Turnbull to working with someone like PM. She moved before he left if I remember correctly, but why, I've no idea.

I usually agree with most of what Piers Morgan says to be fair (I know I know!) but I hate the way he talks all over people and is so condescending. His whole manner is wrong for this type of show. They should just do the piers show and not bother with the other presenters because he doesn't let them talk anyway!

I teach adults in further education and I get the impression that a lot of my students watch GMTV and such like. Can't understand how people have time to watch TV in the morning but anyway - the quality of discussion and news is terrible - I openly advise my students to listen to Radio 4 instead (even that can fall into some of the 'yah-boo' traps of modern media), it doesn't make me a snob; I just want people to be better informed. I find, when they go to R4 - they like it!

As others have said, it's trash, don't watch it! A lot of people do like it though, and a bit like our politics, it does give you an alarming insight into the type of person who makes up a large proportion of our countrymen.
