AIBU to tell you how happy I am to be going to my first nativity tomorrow?

I was diagnosed with cancer just after my daughter turned two, seeing her in her first nativity at school was not something I was expecting to be around for. I'm currently in remission, despite being told I'm stage 4 and can't be cured. AIBU to be absolutely to the point of weeping happy that I'll be seeing her on stage in the morning and to ask what you're happy about right now too and start a little happy thread? Xmas Smile

YANBU at all! Enjoy every precious moment and I promise you won’t be the only person crying!
Our DS missed his first school nativity due to being hospitalised at Xmas (many years ago now) so I was a wreck by the time he sang a song the following year in his Xmas show!
Sending you hugs 🤗

MonteStory · 09/12/2019 20:16

That’s so wonderful. My mum lived with lung cancer for 18 months and every special moment she got with my kids was even more special because we didn’t know if she’d be there.
I bet she’ll be a wonderful angel 😇

Weepingwillows12 · 09/12/2019 20:16

You made me cry! I am so glad you have the chance to see the nativity. Here's wishing you lots more plays in the future.

Oh gosh! How wonderful!!!

I'm so happy for you and your family OP! And I echo the above - here's to many more years of you watching her in her plays.

Sending you all those Christmassy things like love and joy Xmas GrinXmas Grin

My ddog has beaten cancer this year. Wasn't expecting her to see Christmas. Everytime we put Christmas tunes on her tail wags non stop!! Some festive spirit in there!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful ❤️

Similarly, my son has some lines in the nativity this year and I’m seeing next week.

Not especially remarkable except that he’s autistic and has found it nearly impossible to cope in performances until this year. His teacher used to have to flank him with the TA but he’s come so far and I’m so proud of him.

Newbie1999 · 09/12/2019 20:24

I am so, so pleased for you. Wishing you many more milestones! x

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 09/12/2019 20:28

That's a lovely story, I'm so pleased for you and your DD.

I had 4 MCs over about 18m but I am now holding my gorgeous baby DS.

Merry Christmas OP Xmas Smile

cultmaskid · 09/12/2019 20:30

Hey. I love this. Well done. Treasure it And film it and film you going there and getting her ready xxx

Bluetrews25 · 09/12/2019 20:32

That's lovely, Ministry
My first nativity was watching my DS play that well-known nativity character called second robot. Confused
You'll love it! Have the tissues to hand, especially at 'Away In A Manger'!

You’ve made me well up OP! That really is what Christmas is all about. Best wishes Flowers what an incredibly strong person you are Flowers enjoy!!

CherryPavlova · 09/12/2019 20:33

Lovely. A little ones nativity with cherubic angels singing away in a manger whilst waving or picking their noses can still make my eyes water. It will be very special for you.

MinistryOfTragic · 09/12/2019 20:33

@MonteStory literally every day a gift right? ❤️

@AlwaysDancing1234 Awful time to be in hospital, I'm glad he made you proud the next year. 🎅

@Winterdaysarehere how lovely, I hope she sees many more too. 🐶

@Merryoldgoat That's superb, what a star. You've every right to be as proud as you are. 🌟

Such lovely messages, thank you again.
