Boris Johnson refuses to look at photo of child on hospital floor

Johnson repeatedly refusing to look at picture of a four year old child on a hospital floor when confronted by an ITV reporter. After refusing to so much as glance at the photo, he then proceeds to pocket the reporters phone(!?) while mouthing empty platitudes. Here’s a link,but I’m sure you’ll see it on the news anyway..

Was he having a bad day? Nah, it’s Johnson to a T: a privileged, uncaring, unashamed bullshitter, out for number one. Does this man represent our country?

So the Chief Executive and Chief Medical Officer of the Trust was in the A&E department that night and was able to confirm the boy was on the floor for a lengthy period, or just long enough for his mother to whip her phone out and take a picture?

I've never taken a picture of my sick children but if they were on the floor with no bed for that long I might do, not that the Tory supporters would believe it 🙄

That's the problem nowadays. Too many people just taking photos instead of trying to sort out or help with the situation. But sorting things out there and then doesn't get you in the papers and shared on social media.

@EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall I get what you're saying that the child might want its own space, especially if this is a 4 year old. What any child needs to know, however, is that the parents are present and you're not if you're exploiting the situation in order to grab your 15 minutes of fame or to make a crass political point at the expense of hospital staff who will be doing their best.

I’m from Leeds and know the hospital and have friends that are staff there- trust me it’s happening!!

Saying things you have no evidence for and saying 'fact' after does not actually make that a fact. Eg Boris Johnson is a lovely man who cares about the working classes. Fact. See how adding 'fact' didn't mean that wasn't a total bullshit comment?

The child was on oxygen, he was seriously ill, he wouldn't have known his mum was stood less than two feet away from him taking a picture 🙄

Funny that the Labour party were reporting on this 12/13 hours ago yet Boris was blindsided by the information 7/8 hours ago

Boris is probably used to people shoving things in his face. It's a rude thing to do - no one would like it. And he no doubt had his planned agenda in mind when he did it, and wasn't prepared for random people to just highjack it. Afterwards, when he realised, he addressed it.

Also I can't imagine a nurse ever saying the NHS is in crisis because of an ageing population and people misusing services. It is in crisis due to lack of funding, the dogs on the street know that so the nurses definitely know it.

So i take it this "gagging clause" on NHS staff doesnt apply when its in favour of the Tories.

And an article like the one she is planning to write could completely undermine trust in the NHS.

Missed my point. I'm questioning the ethics of photographing a child in a vulnerable state like this. I don't know anyone who would think that was appropriate.

He was on a hospital trolley in the paediatric A&E having been seen within 20 minutes. I am a nurse myself and am so pissed off with fake news, yes the NHS is a mess mainly caused by people misusing it and lack of elderly care. Think of the nurses and Doctors who are doing 2/3

a) take it up with hospital management?
b) contact your MP?
c) lobby parliament?
d) write about your experiences, set up a petition to highlight the crisis in NHS funding?

I've searched multiple articles and can't corroborate this. Do you know the family personally?

Do we know she hasn't done/isn't planning to do A,b,c or d.

I complained to our local A+E after a similarly long wait on a floor /lack of beds with ds. We have been back to A+E several times since...nothing has changed.

I have complained, written to MP and been involved in meetings wrt the shit show that is Virgincare in our area. Do you know how much difference it has made? Sweet Fuck All....oh and apparently their contract has been extended, I am tired and fucking weary of it all.
