daft question - which way do you face when you get into the shower?

One of those little things that keeps popping into my head when I get in the shower and I thought you lot wouldn't mind a quick vote!

I always have my back to the shower head to start but on TV they always seem to face it.

YABU - I have my back to the shower

I think most people do turn around, but my question is what do you do when you first get in? I have a shower over a bath but still have my back to the shower head if it's a cubicle style one too.

I'm baffled - I thought everyone would say they faced the shower!

Depends where the plug hole is as that is more important to face, in case something comes up to attack me whilst unaware.

Mind blown! I face the shower other than to wash hair and let the hot water soothe my backache. Baffled that people face away from the controls but I do like to hold the shower head for more direct aim. Our shower isn't particularly powerful.

Face to the shower except when I wash my hair and turn around purely because my shower is tiny and is like getting washed in a phone box. I need to turn or my arms hit the back wall

Always sideways. We have a wetroom though so loads of space.

In a cubicle /over bath I face the shower

I get in let it warm my front then turn around for the rest 😂😂😂 literally never thought about this. I couldn't face it all the way

Back to the shower - don’t like getting my face under it as I love a really hot shower and wash my face separately.

I turn as I reach the water.... I think - will have to pay even more attention tomorrow!

I think it's often facing the shower on TV because it's less risque to show back/bum than full-frontal nudity.

(I do back to the shower because I have really thick hair and it doesn't get wet enough otherwise.)

Face the shower to wet and rinse, face away to soap up. I love the shower raining on my back and shoulders.

We have a rainfall type shower so there is no front or back - but in other showers or when using the handheld bit I face away from the water as I try and wash my face in cold not scalding water.

Home - hand held, sideways to the holder using the grab rail.

Overhead-only showers - back to them so they get the back of my head and all my hair wet, then turn round. They tend to spray at an angle.

I face the shower. I only turn around to wash my hair, and shave my legs.

Back to the shower for hair washing then turn front to shower for body washing. Finally back to the shower again for final hair rinse

Front first here, I feel the cold so I warm myself up before I wash my hair. Our shower is a bit crappy though, it’s just one attached to the mixer tap so the pressure it’s too great. In the amazing shower when we stay with B-I-L and S-I-L I do t tend to face the shower because the water pressure makes it feel like my face is being needled... it’s brilliant. One day, we too will have a shower that good

I face the shower even to wash my hair. Never occurred to me to face back to shower.
