To throw the whole pram away

My daughters spilt milk in the seat of her silver cross pioneer and I can not get the smell out. I've tried hand washing it and then it just has a damp smell. Cam I take the black seat liner off and put it in the wash or just get a whole new seat!?

Have you tried bicarbing it?

I can't remember if the whole seat comes off for washing.... I'm sure the straps get in the way.

Vinegar and water solution in a spray bottle, keep on soaking and drying the area until the smell goes

JuneSpoon · 08/12/2019 12:58

There are companies that will deep clean prams/ buggies for you

lanbro · 08/12/2019 13:00

Spray mouthwash onto it, the anti bac properties will kill the bacteria and get rid of the smell

LucaFritz · 08/12/2019 13:00

The straps should come off and the seat fabric is usually removable it sometimes has a wooden board in the bottom you can slip out depending on the model of the pram have you tried YouTube for a video of how to remove the fabric ? If it won't come off try a mix of washing up liquid and distilled vinegar to wash it down with a damp cloth and then when its dry it shouldn't smell as vingar kills the bacteria causing the odours

Omg, those are really expensive aren’t they.

I would try to use vinegar and water as pp mentioned. And use a steam cleaner after that.
That’s how my friend managed to remove the smell of cat pee from her carpet.

I would also try to contact the manufacturer perhaps they have some ideas. Maybe it’s possible to deassemble some parts and clean them individually? I am sure you’re not the first parent to deal with this problem.

Good luck

Chocolate1984 · 08/12/2019 13:03

We have companies that take your pram away and clean it. Google your local area to see if you have similar

mumwon · 08/12/2019 13:17

YouTube? all sorts of random hints & info or there

RossPoldarksWife · 08/12/2019 13:20

The seat fabric comes completely off and you can wash it. My granddaughters pioneer had the same accident. Just put it in on it’s own in a cool wash, put back on frame whilst damp and leave to dry.

oohnicevase · 08/12/2019 13:27

Put it in the washing machine , it's all synthetic ! If you can get it off it will wash ..

Fr0g · 08/12/2019 13:35

i once had to get rid of lingering smells in a flat - & read online about white vinegar - you just leave a bowl of it out for a few days.
I was v sceptical, but a bowl in each room certainly rid the flat of really pervasive cigarette smell - and it wasn't replaced by a vinegary odour.
I sold the flat really quickly, although others in the development had been on the market for months.
Try leaving a bowl inside the pram.

Thanks everyone. I'm gona try a few ideas!

Bicarb. And you should be able to wash it anyway

BlackeyedSusan · 08/12/2019 15:14

Next time milk or wee is spilt, clean then spray with antibac afterwards. Stops the smell.

HerrenaHarridan · 08/12/2019 15:14

Burn it.

The smell of off milk will prevail!

LIZS · 08/12/2019 15:15

Do the covers not come off to wash?
