If you have a boyish boy, reserved and not into dancing, where did they learn how to dabcecso that they could join in in school parties?

YouTube?

doritosdip · 06/12/2019 23:45

Agree with "YouTube" then probably practiced on the loo and in the playground.

Also by playing too much Fortnite

BillHadersNewWife · 06/12/2019 23:46

Yes Youtube and older siblings.

BackforGood · 06/12/2019 23:47

Should that say "how to dance so ...." ? (being a bit slow tonight - it took me a while Grin)

I don't think any of my dc needed to know how to dance - not what has tended to go on at any parties from school.

Thehagonthehill · 06/12/2019 23:47

What is dabcecso?
If you mean disco dancing it's the same as for girls not into pop music or dancing, they copy those who do.

JaneJeffer · 06/12/2019 23:49

What is dabcecso?
dance so

theendoftheendoftheend · 06/12/2019 23:49

What? How old is he?? Why is this an issue?! I wish I could dabcecso Sad

BlueEyedFloozy · 06/12/2019 23:50

They don't need to learn to dance for school parties - they just move how they like and have fun.

I don't have a particularly typical "boyish" boy but I do have 2 kids who have no interest in moving in a set way - they mostly just bounce, skid on their knees and wiggle a bit 😁

bintang · 06/12/2019 23:51

He just knew!

He is v shy and retiring until he gets on the dance floor... he won the 'dancing prize' at his school's Christmas disco about four times on the run.

I really don't know where he gets it from.

titchy · 06/12/2019 23:55

Mines 19 and still slides along the dance floor on his knees

BackforGood · 07/12/2019 00:03

@titchy Grin Grin

MLMsuperfan · 07/12/2019 00:05

I'd love a glass of dabcecso

weeblueberry · 07/12/2019 00:11

Yeah I read the typo as how to do the dab Grin I reckon my answer is still valid though.

OhioOhioOhio · 07/12/2019 00:22

Sorry. I meant disco dancing.

I guess like all the actions to agadoo etc etc.

I think they do need to know.

BackforGood · 07/12/2019 00:27

I think they do need to know.

'need' is a strong word

If they are interested / motivated, then they watch the others, and copy them - same as we all do when a newer dance craze comes out.

How old is / are your dc ?

DontMakeMeShushYou · 07/12/2019 00:27

Do 'boyish boys' need to know the moves to Agadoo??

Presumably we're talking about primary aged children? I though they basically just ran round at school discos in much the same way as they do in the school playground, no? Perhaps that's just our school.

Anyway Google/YouTube is you friend.

ThereIsIron · 07/12/2019 00:30

What age is he? Probably YouTube or TikTok

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/12/2019 00:32

I have a girl who never went to any kind of dance lessons, she just, um danced at school parties or discos or whatever.
It's really not something that's being taught to girls!

Inglenooks · 07/12/2019 05:49

I teach primary and none of the kids know Agadoo. They mainly run about or talk.

FakeChristmasTreesaremynewnorm · 07/12/2019 05:55

Oh I thought dabcesco was the new dance for a minute there Xmas Grin.

caravanette · 07/12/2019 06:28

I also thought dabcesco was a new trend if some kind...

Luzina · 07/12/2019 06:30

If he wants to know how to dance then you tube or tik tok. If he doesn't want to then it doesn't matter.

BillywilliamV · 07/12/2019 06:33

I think he’ll be too busy at parties drinking Echo Falls, straight from the bottle with a very long straw..or maybe that’s just the girls. Bleuch!

Andysbestadventure · 07/12/2019 06:39

Black Lace made videos for their songs. All on youtube.

Do they still place aga do and Superman etc at parties? I thought discos were just for German resort Package holidays these days...

itsmecathycomehome · 07/12/2019 06:42

I teach and very few children dance. They mostly stand about, sit about, run about and eat sweets.

A small group of (usually) girls will dance quite competently because they have watched older siblings.

Boys generally slide on their knees, attempt 'the worm' or jump up and down.

Occasionally a song comes on with a prescribed dance move - the conga, superman etc and one or two know it and everyone copies.
