My friend has a baby who is 3 months and a 4 year old.
We normally go for a meal and do the exchange of gifts but the baby is still very young and she's breastfeeding.
She hasn't left the house in two weeks now.
So I had a idea of suggesting to take the "party" to her.
One tea time /early evening heading over here with some party food (m&s have lots of nice bits in) a couple of nice desserts.
Do you think that's a good idea?
She was a bit upset yesterday that she has no adult company and is lonely.
Obviously I would cook the things and wash up etc

Is she a single parent? If so lovely idea. If not, why can’t the other parent be with the children so she can actually go out. She must be going insane.

Pinkblueberry · 06/12/2019 07:47

@MarleneandBoycie it’s not either/or. Some dads do evening work/night shifts/work abroad... this sort of comment gets bounded around a lot on here as though people have no concept of the fact that not everyone works in a 9-5 bubble... you don’t have to be single to not regularly have help in the evenings.

Lovely idea, you’re a very thoughtful friend. Ask what suits her of course.

Ahh that's great she's on board with the idea! Maybe get he a voucher for a spa / beauty salon that doesn't expire soon! And a babysitting voucher. Some nice PJ's and a nice smelly candle?

@MarleneandBoycie she's breastfeeding a 3 month old. She may either not feel comfortable going out breastfeeding or like many 3 months old be stuck on a chair cluster feeding that time of day.
