In favour of the Tories, of course. Grin whoever would have foreseen that?

Gosh, how exciting! This is something I find odd about the system for electing MEPs, and some other representatives (some of the Welsh Assembly, London, not sure where else:

With Westminster, when MPs defect, they do have the admittedly fairly shaky argument that the electorate vote for an individual not a party. With the MEPs, however, the electorate votes for a party, and the party works down their list of candidates appointing MEPs, depending on how many seats they are allocated in each region.

Not that I want the Brexit party to have seats! But it seems an odd system in these situations.

Oh, hadn't thought of that @BiarritzCrackers, I wonder if same rules apply as here and they keep their seat regardless. Those brexit voters must be furious. Not to mention Nige.

What on earth has happened to all those enthusiastic Brexit voters? Once upon a time they would have piled on here to tell us how "you lost, get over it", etc. Have they all gone back to the Tories?

The far right have found a home in the Conservatives. Not sure it's funny.

O bloody hell Mrs Maisel, another thing I hadn't taken into account. That's far from good and not remotely funny. I'm shutting up and going back to bed until I can think more clearly.
