3 moments of happiness

What three things made you happy / smile / laugh today?

Mine are:
1 A toasted slice of brioche loaf with salty butter and golden syrup for lunch
2 I do the M&S shoulder shuffle every time I see the advert or hear the music. I did it in the petrol station today
3 The dog has his chin on my knee

Watching a video of a (very happy) cat being wrapped up for Christmas.

The delivery man who, when I offered him a chocolate, took the whole tub and said thanks very much. He then laughed and handed them back (big tub of Celebrations). We compromised on two Grin.

Getting some inspiration from the Christmas threads on here for presents for my family.

  1. Woke up to my bf saying “I love you. I want that to be the first thing you hear every day”;
  2. My cats have been absolute fluff angels, and my beautiful tripod girl is currently curled up next to me, licking herself and occasionally head butting me;
  3. My secret elf box is coming together and I’m so excited at all the things I’ve managed to get for the little girl I’m putting it together for - I really hope it brightens up her christmas.

2.Finding the amazon parcel left in the recycling bin and realising a book I have bought with fingers crossed for my DD is PERFECT for her.

  1. Following a link from a news story to You Tube and remembering what a beautiful song Forever Young is.
TheGriffle · 04/12/2019 20:19

Hearing dd who is 2 1/2 tell me that when she turns into Anna she will go to the mountain, scream her head off and get her sister Elsa back. Made me chuckle

Belting out Let it go with the 2 year old and her big sister in the car (Obviously Frozen is the little ones new favourite thing!)

All of us watching funny cats videos on YouTube and hearing everyone laugh.

katmarie · 04/12/2019 20:21

Ds coming racing over to me when I walked into his nursery room at pickup. Just unbridled happiness from him, and it's impossible not to smile back.

Dd, five weeks old, looking at me and smiling.

Dh making dinner, and us all sitting at the table together to eat.

Little things but they've made me smile.

PortNStilton · 04/12/2019 20:24

I’ve had a shit week, month, year so it’s nice to be able to document this. Thanks, OP Flowers

  1. Taking my kids for a ‘Christmas’ hot chocolate after work. The lights on the high street, the time with my funny, silly kids, the warm Christmassy feeling that only really comes at these little moments and not because you’ve orchestrated a great big expensive ‘Perfect Christmas’.
  1. Quick chat with my best friend on the phone. Haven’t spoken to her in ages and was nice to catch up and remember why she is my dearest friend.
  1. Having a glass of wine and a good chat with my mum just now. I started off feeling tired and a bit down and ended up feeling relaxed and a bit more positive. Thanks, Mum!
Sunflowersok · 04/12/2019 20:26

Waking up this morning and snuggling in to DP and feeling his warm breath on my face and wrapping his arms around me.

Getting my annual leave approved for DSDs Christmas play tomorrow

A colleague leaving for home and then coming back in because she’d forgotten her phone and then leaving again... 5 minutes later I go in to her office to find her car keys on her desk Grin Hmm

I got the department to stand up and clap when she came back to pick them up Grin

Shoxfordian · 04/12/2019 20:29

Thank you! Sorry for showing off Grin

shrumps · 04/12/2019 20:32

The mince pie and coffee I took into an otherwise dull meeting this morning.

Buying the last few stocking fillers I needed for my boys.

One of said boys lighting the candles and putting on the Christmas tree lights so it was nice when I got home in the dark.

My 5yr old daughter excitedly telling me all about her nativity play and who is in what role. I asked who Mary and Joseph were and she rolled her eyes at me and said witheringly "they are the ones with the baby mummy" It has been making me laugh all day.

My 8 yr old son going out for a Christmas show with my husband and being all excited about having a late night. Love having grown up moments with him, he's such a star.

My amazing team at work, genuinely lovely, funny and strong women who totally have each other's backs.
