You'll smash it
She/he/we smashed it
Go on smash it!
Smashed it 👊🏻

I hate it!

OP posts:
VestaTilley · 04/12/2019 23:38

Agree. It's such a violent expression; the imagery is horrible and it's far too aggressive.

VonHerrBurton · 04/12/2019 23:42

Grin I was thinking, reading this, that it MUST be someone who watches/watched fucking I'm a celebrity..... every other sentence is punctuated by smash it, smashed it, gave it 110% etc. Same with high fives, does anyone really do this? In real life situations? Jeez.

PixieDustt · 04/12/2019 23:51

My MIL always says 'I called in Asda' etc. I hate it and not sure why.
And the bloody giraffe on CBeebies Pablo always says 'to point the fact' STFU

PixieDustt · 04/12/2019 23:51

Oh and 'and then some' infuriates me.

Davros · 04/12/2019 23:56

"I got your back" vom

ViciousJackdaw · 05/12/2019 00:15

Plenty. I've posted about this before and got all the Hmm but 'I got plenty space', 'I'm plenty tired', what the fuck is that all about?

Quebeth · 05/12/2019 00:57

Yes I hate all of these except “it is what it is”. I like that. I always think it helps me to cope slightly better in a less-than- ideal situation.

For example we are going away for a few days tomorrow and the weather forecast is weather-warning bad, so we have had to ditch our Christmas market etc plans and find something else to do. I could cancel. I could sulk. But I’m not (well I am a bit) because “it is what it is”.

RainySnowyDay · 05/12/2019 01:14

‘My bad’

My bad....what? My bad cake decorating? My bad taste in slippers? My bad cat who just destroyed the Christmas tree?

WatchingTheMoon · 05/12/2019 01:29

You've got this, mama.

HermioneMakepeace · 05/12/2019 02:00

“All good.” Always sounds so passive-aggressive.

HermioneMakepeace · 05/12/2019 02:18

Also a couple of women I know with all girl children use the expression “girly girls”, as in “Come on girly girls!”, “girly girls, what would you like to eat?”.

I cringe every time I hear it.

caravanette · 05/12/2019 02:34

Cake smash !!

caravanette · 05/12/2019 02:36

I hate it is what it is. Yes it is and I don't fucking like it!!!

caravanette · 05/12/2019 02:37

How are you diddling!!!!

caravanette · 05/12/2019 02:39

Making memories with these wonderful humans blessed and living my best life!!

BritWifeinUSA · 05/12/2019 03:29

“Reach out” has me singing that Four Tops song “I’ll be there”. Hate it (the phrase, not the song).

“at the end of the day” I always add “it gets dark” when I hear that. It seems people couldn’t be on a Jeremy Kyle show of they didn’t say “at the end of the day that baby is mine” at least three times. I think it was the eligibility criteria.

“Call someone out on” makes me itch.

People who refer to a baby as “little human”.

“We’re pregnant”. Just no.

Tanith · 05/12/2019 14:12

Oh yes, Masterchef! Full of irritating clichés these days. If I hear one more chef describe his or her dish as "Me on a Plate"...! 🤮

HarrietTheFly · 05/12/2019 14:15

Most of these things annoy me. I don't know what the word is for them (if there is one) but it's a certain type of "stock" phrase that I really dislike.

"You do you" and "That's on you" are possibly the two that irritate me the most. But also anything that's described as "goals" or "win".

HarrietTheFly · 05/12/2019 14:16

"Call someone out on” makes me itch.

Yes this one too. Yuck.

lolaflores · 05/12/2019 14:21

Bitch.
Insert at random all the time.
No need for it, bot big and ot clever.
Derogatory.

LemonPrism · 05/12/2019 14:22

May I add the Generation Z version, Rekt it (no it's actually spelt that way instead of wrecked).

Doman · 05/12/2019 14:36

I don't mind 'smashed it' too much. But all that #blessed #bestlife #makingmemories drivel makes me want to slap people.

Flippetydip · 05/12/2019 14:44

"Reached out" absolutely infuriates me as does "smashed it". I have no idea why.

I do, I have to confess, use "it is what it is" because often it is indeed, what it is.

"Making memories" is just too awful for words. For whoever asked why, it's because - just get on and make them, don't be telling all and sundry. And also, you are making memories ALL the time - it's not something you choose to do. Whether they are amazing memories, shit memories or utterly tedious memories is another matter.

TheDogsMother · 05/12/2019 15:20

Making memories
Hubby/hubster
Holibobs
Little people
Living my best life
Totes/totes amazeballs
Just sayin
Best version of me
Sorry, not sorry
Awesome
My bad

That's quite a long list !

Glitterblue · 05/12/2019 15:21
