At that age mine rolled off the bed onto a wooden floor. He cried for five minutes then was fine. A few weeks ago he fell down the stairs and was equally fine. Kids have accidents! Just keep an eye out for 24 hours in case of any symptoms of head injury such as vomiting.

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/12/2019 14:50

She'll be fine. Many of us have done exactly the same thing. :)

Goodebe · 04/12/2019 14:51

Oh OP she will be fine I’m sure, don’t panic. If she was hurt she would be letting you know! Babies fall off the bed/sofa etc all the time. Keep an eye on her but I’m sure she is fine, if she is playing / happy now.

Lulualla · 04/12/2019 14:51

At 6 months old, a roll off the sofa really isn't a big deal. Mine are older now and I might be struggling to remember but they're fairly sturdy by 6 months!

Are they showing signs of pain? Been sick? Eyes looking funny?

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 04/12/2019 14:52

Happened to me too OP. Ds wasnt even capable of rolling and didnt do it again for another 2 months.

Its a good sign that baby cried and honestly probably no harm done.

Chemenger · 04/12/2019 14:52

Both of mine rolled off places at least once, they are grown up now and are absolutely fine. Babies are designed to withstand the mistakes of motherhood.

puds11 · 04/12/2019 14:56

Babies are pretty robust. I was told by a doctor that crying straight away is a good sign as it means they didn’t loose consciousness.

custardbear · 04/12/2019 14:57

My DD rolled off a bed and bent her neck back a little - I was terrified, staying at a B&B and spoke to the owner in a panic - she said oh they all do that from time to time she'll be fine - she was
It's difficult at that age they're Houdini and quick too - I kept my second on the floor st all times ... he ate cat food you can't win!

HarryHarry · 04/12/2019 15:00

They’re pretty sturdy by 6 months so I wouldn’t worry about it unless they start to seem unwell later. You do have to watch them all the time once they can roll though! In another few months they’ll be falling over all the time!

Clevs · 04/12/2019 15:00

I think most parents have experienced their baby rolling off the bed/sofa/changing table.

It's a good sign she cried straight away. Look for repeated vomiting, abnormal behaviour, fits, signs of pain etc.

Kids bounce well. Just keep an eye on her for the rest of the day.

Savingshoes · 04/12/2019 15:01

I agree.
Any lumps or bumps? Any change in behaviour since?
Don't give pain relief until you've seen the GP.
Well done you for getting an appointment so quickly, let us know the secret!

CatsOnCatnip · 04/12/2019 15:01

Mine fell off the bed at 6 months. The wallop of her hitting the floor was horrendous. She screamed bloody murder for a couple of minutes then was totally fine. I texted my friend in panic and she laughed and said bother her kids and rolled off a bed or sofa at some point and it was practically a right of passage. Best to get her checked out to stop you worrying, though.

CatsOnCatnip · 04/12/2019 15:02

God, that was full of mistakes! *Rite of passage, in particular

Rachierach11 · 04/12/2019 15:03

Happened to my ds at that age and I was so scared but he was absolutely fine. You'll feel better once you've been to the gp but crying is a very good sign x

TheTrollFairy · 04/12/2019 15:03

Don’t panic. We have all made mistakes with our kids. Do you know if she hit her head? Can you see any marks or bumps on it?
I would just keep an eye out and see how she’s doing.
I’m sure they’ll be no lasting damage!

Webby01 · 04/12/2019 15:05

I didn't strap mine in the baby swing at 4 months and turned around to find him standing up against it. Had the fright of my life, thought he had climbed out and was just chilling there standing leaning against it.
He then wobbled over and hit his head on the wooden floor. I was very upset, very confused, very hysterical - laughing/ crying

They will be fine x

BiBiBirdie · 04/12/2019 15:06

Please don't feel bad OP! I dropped my DD when she was around that age (not deliberately, wet floor and I went flying as did she with me) and she had no lasting damage. I was told it's when they don't cry you need to worry.

puds11 · 04/12/2019 15:08

@BiBiBirdie I was told the same.

Hotseat · 04/12/2019 15:12

When my dd was only 2 weeks old my poor mum smacked her a right wallop right on the top of her head with a door. She was so upset (mum) dd fine, 29 now. Although her db does say it explains a lot. Grin

Throughabushbackwards · 04/12/2019 15:22

Every single mum I've ever spoken to about this has a similar story. Both of mine rolled off furniture and fell! Just make sure DC isn't injured then honestly try to put it out of your mind.

puds11 · 04/12/2019 15:24

Are you even a parent if you haven’t dropped at least one of your children Grin

OneForTheRoadThen · 04/12/2019 15:25

My second learnt to roll at 6 weeks and rolled off the bed onto a wooden floor. We weren't expecting it as her brother was much older when he rolled over. She's absolutely fine although we did get a call from the HV suggesting we 'didn't do it again' 😂.

Marinetta · 04/12/2019 15:27

My 8 month old rolled off the bed 2 days agoand banged his head on the way down. He cried fir maybe 3 minutes and was then back to his usual self. I live next door to the GP so I took him there straight away and they got the pediatric nurse to check him, she said he was fine and gave me a sheet with symptoms to look out for over 24 hours and told me to take him to hospital if he displayed anything on the sheet. Watched him like a hawk for 24 hours but he was absolutely fine.and I'm sure your baby will be too.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 04/12/2019 15:28

Omg please don’t worry! Same thing happened to mine and I took him to hospital (living abroad where no GP surgery) and was met with sympathy and reassurance that it happens to everyone once and baby is definitely fine. They were so unphased that I felt like a bit of an idiot for even bringing him in! They told me if baby rolls off something less than 3 foot high it’s basically a non issue and they’ll be fine? Didn’t even check him!

FrenchJunebug · 04/12/2019 15:28

my son rolled from my high bed at that age. He was fine. It's terrifying for us but babies are sturdy and bouncy.
