Helicobactor

Posting here for traffic - apologies

I have been suffering with Helicobactor for the past 18 months and I am now at a point where my mental health is declining. I am just posting to see if anyone else has had experience of this and what treatments have been sucessful/unsuccessful

I was undiagnosed for around 9 months. I was at the doctor once a month as the symptoms were really bad and I was desperate for an answer. I saw different doctors, tried several different reflux medications, saw an ENT specialist and no one thought to test me for it. I even had one doctor tell me that he believed it was all psychological. My symptoms were/are burning stomach, revolting taste in mouth, burning mouth, uncontainable feeling in throat, feeling sick and feeling depressed. I finally saw a doctor who tested me for HP and it was positive. I was given the first line triple therapy treatment and my symptoms disappeared and I was overjoyed, only for them to return within a few weeks. Moved to second line treatment which had no impact at all. Symptoms now at an all time high and I'm waiting on results of another test to confirm the HP is still present (it absolutely is yet my doctor refused treatment until she had more confirmation) I'm in South London and the Doctors surgery is over subscribed that it can sometimes be a month wait for an appointment. I try and just book a new app straight after my last one as I always end up needing it

I'm so worried this is just never going to end and it'll always return. I'm so miserable with these symptoms all day, every day. Has anyone else been through this?

Hi
My husband has had HP and did respond well to front line initially but has had ongoing issues. He finds kefir (taken in yoghurt/yoghurt drink) and fermented foods such as gherkins/ sauerkraut etc makes a big difference to him. He steers away from spicy foods and alcohol (unless he feels its worth the consequences). He has just found from trial and error what really disagrees with him and makes symptoms worse and avoids these as much as he can. He works outdoors without toilet facilities on hand so he found out pretty quick what caused further issues!
I hope you find something that you respond to, I can only sympathise, it's really nasty!
