My DP has informed me that my sister in law has insisted that I MUST iron my baby’s clothes. AIBU to tell her to iron her face? Does the unwarranted parenting advice ever stop?

If you make any response to these nutters they'll continue doing it, ignore them and they'll get bored soon enough.

YANBU, mum shaming never stops. My mother told me last week that I should buy the DC a whole new wardrobe for Christmas and donate their old clothes "in the spirit of giving". No thanks, mum, I am not spending over £1000 on clothes they don't need! (And I like the idea of telling SIL to iron her face!)

Make up random stuff. Babies ears fall off if you don't massage their ear lobes three times daily. Ovens must be deep cleaned weekly or everyone gets food poisoning for sure. Mums drinking coffee results in shorter children, even if the child is already an adult when the mum takes up drinking espresso.

Ask him where he got this magic iron that is DNA profiled so only you can use it.

Feel like my DP is getting a bad rep here. HE didn’t tell me to iron, he just told me what his sister said to him while they were talking after I asked him what they were talking about, because they were speaking in their native language which I can’t understand

@TowelNumber42 that’s literally what some of the stuff she tells me sounds like. One of the other ones was that we have to spit in the bath after he’s had a bath or it will give him bad luck and we can’t kiss him after he’s had a bath because it was take the clean away 🤔🤔🤔
