AIBU to expect Nectar points theft to be taken seriously ?

I'm clearly one of many who have just found out that their Nectar points have been raided somehow. I'll need to cancel my Sainsbury's christmas delivery and think again about the Christmas food/drink shopping.

I never share passwords with anybody, not even family members.

This is not my fault

Angry and Sad.

This has happened with Morrison's more points as well. Loads of people are complaining about finding their points have been used in different parts of the country, I had £75 worth of points used in the next city to me but it certainly wasn't me!

Morrison's are just sending out a generic email blaming the customer for any data breaches causing loss of points.

Apparently we should contact Action Fraud so this maybe an option for you.

When I moved house it coincided with the week my Tesco Clubcard vouchers got delivered. Despite only moving across the road, the new occupier of my old house decided to help themselves to my vouchers and had the audacity to spend them! Luckily I cottoned on to it pretty quickly and when I asked my neighbour where my vouchers were they pretended like they had spent mine accidentally (assumed they were theirs Hmm). I called Tesco and they replaced my vouchers.

The bloody cheek of folk!

Did you give your password to a family member and they used the points?

ColaFreezePop · 04/12/2019 11:39

No the accounts are being hacked into.

OlaEliza · 04/12/2019 11:41

Complain to Sainsbury's and they'll replace them.

This happened to me and they tried to fob me off but then there was a thing about it on watchdog and then they refunded them.

porridging · 04/12/2019 11:42

When I used to work for JS we used to replace the points, it was a while ago but in the time I worked there 3 people were sacked for stealing points - they were front end staff

thetideishigh · 04/12/2019 20:52

Complaint lodged with Sainsburys but they blame Nectar/e-bay/me.

I have never shared the password with anyone, not even my husband.

Internal theft most likely.

Alsohuman · 04/12/2019 21:11

I thought Tesco vouchers only worked in conjunction with the card they’re issued against.

ladsmum · 05/12/2019 00:15

Just found my Nectar account locked and when i tried to reset password the email address is not mine. I suspect the same has happened to my points. I'll have to ring Nectar tomorrow. Fingers crossed they refund them.

PrincessPain · 05/12/2019 04:00

I just checked mine (I only use it on ebay) and found nectar saying they are down at the moment and have unlinked my accounts.
I don't know if they're trying to stop it happening to more people or if it's also happened to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

My dad and my friend both had thousands of points added a couple of years ago. My friend made a half-arsed attempt to sort it out but my dad spent hours and hours trying to give them back. To no avail. He still won’t spend them as they’re not his.
