To ask you to guess my age from 5 facts..

So this one was going round the pub the other night and I thought it was a lot of fun. And actually quite thought provoking. So... can you guess my age from these 5 facts.

  1. I legally bought cigarettes at 16... and had them in the smoking room at work.
  2. my first concert was a Smash hits tour headlining Sean Maguire and Boyzone
  3. I paid tuition fees at university
  4. my favourite outfit as a pre-teen was from tammy girl
  5. I have no IT qualifications, including GCSEs. I never had a dedicated 'IT' subject on my school timetable.

So what year was I born???

I'd have said 1981, same as me, but paying tuition fees isn't in line with that, unless you went later rather than straight after a-levels?

And I had IT as an option for GCSEs, so that threw me too.

I’m another saying born 80/81 as I’m sure you’d have been the first year at uni for tuition fees (and the reason I didn’t go!)

Well the welsh devolution referendum was 98 I think, so I say 1982.

I'm 1981 but did have IT. All the rest is horribly familiar though, so I'm saying 1979

1980 or late 1979?

The first cohort to pay uni tuition fees in England started in 1998 so birth year can't be earlier than that, unless you took a gap year

1989, GCSE started in 1988, unless you are referring to GCSE as a generic phrase for public exams.

@LittenKitten it was Chester Northgate arena I think in around 94?!

Wish I'd have kept up the clues now. First one I said on sat was 'I'm a Thatcher baby' which would have narrowed it down!

I reckon around 1974. I was born sometime after that and we did have IT as an optional subject at school (admittedly not uk)

Well the guesses for my age were one each side, so if you take an average you’d be close! I was born in the 1950’s.

Good guess on mine. It was actually 1990. I think I matured my interest in boys very young!! I have a clear memory of liking looking at a poster of topless Peter Andre when I was very young!!! 😂
