It's been months since I've been able to get Tranexamic Acid (for my debilitatingly heavy periods) at Boots - it should be behind the counter next to the Feminax, but it's constantly out of stock. I basically just have to work from home for a couple of days each month now, as my bleeding gets so heavy that I flood a heavy duty pad in 15 minutes or less. I just sit on a towel for the whole day and deal with the carnage.

Other things that seem to be out of stock regularly - LactoFree milk (for husband), Oatly Barista edition oat milk for me, V8 Juice, brown mushrooms, broccoli, and Jackson's bread. On top of that there will regularly be fresh food shelves that are either empty or barely stocked.

This is in Leeds, at Waitrose, Aldi, and Morrison's for the most part. Is it similar where you are?

I've been struggling to buy ibuprofen for weeks.

Pipandmum · 01/12/2019 20:50

No. Haven't noticed any empty shelves (except at Waitrose after Good Housekeeping rated one of their Christmas cakes). No shortage of my or my daughter's medication. I live on an island but no shortages that I can see.

Novia · 01/12/2019 20:51

There are countrywide shortages of my contraceptive pill - the only one I can take...

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 01/12/2019 20:52

No but I’m in London. Had a hard time finding nytol of all kinds a couple of months back for a few weeks.

selfhelpneeded · 01/12/2019 20:52

Haven't noticed this at all. I'm in the west of Scotland.
I don't take any medication regularly though (except iron)

DeeZastris · 01/12/2019 20:53

Country wide shortage of HRT.

Kazziek · 01/12/2019 20:53

I haven't noticed any shortages of anything at all. Although there wasn't any cat litter in Tesco today, but probably just sold out!

Debbie698 · 01/12/2019 20:54

Ranitidine.

RogueV · 01/12/2019 20:55

Nope not noticed

Walnutwhipster · 01/12/2019 20:55

Epi pens.

Ermmmmname · 01/12/2019 20:56

@Debbie698 ranitidine was pulled from shelves. Some chemical that may cause cancer was found in it.

lovesapinot · 01/12/2019 20:56

Can't get ibuprofen anywhere near me

dontalltalkatonce · 01/12/2019 20:56

Sominex blue/promethazine.

DragonMamma · 01/12/2019 20:57

I can’t get ibuprofen easily - Tesco have been out of stock for weeks (unless I wanted to fork out for Nurofen - I don’t).

Buccastem has also been non-existent for such a long time now.

Daisy169 · 01/12/2019 21:00

Broccoli, small green milk.

eternallybaffled · 01/12/2019 21:02

Haven't been able to get ibuprofen in Tesco for ages. Also had to change my fluoxetine from tablet form to liquid (🤢) because there's a mass shortage on the 10mg tablets

scousadelic · 01/12/2019 21:02

There are a lot of medicines unavailable at the moment. People are automatically blaming Brexit but, according to the pharmaceutical press it is a combination of things: Changes to the chemical industry in China where many pharmaceuticals and raw materials come from, the EU directive to reduce fake medicines which has meant packaging changes and slowed supplies and stockpiling among others
Haven't noticed any food shortages though

EstebanTheMagnificent · 01/12/2019 21:05

There have been shortages of EpiPens and Jext pens for at least a year.

shellysheridan · 01/12/2019 21:11

Sainsbury's sold out of paracetamol today

Selfsettling3 · 01/12/2019 21:14

Oatley Barista struggles to make enough for the uk market. There has been rumours that they may build a uk factory.

SantasLittleHelper2019 · 01/12/2019 21:17

I live in Another EU country and there are no shortages of any meds.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 01/12/2019 21:19

kazziek there's been no tesco's own cat litter for about 10 days near me. Very annoying as it smells the least out of all of them.
Other than that not noticed anything

Northernsoullover · 01/12/2019 21:22

Flu jabs are in short supply and the ones Boots had couldn't be administered because their Epi pens were recalled.. but they are going to struggle to replace them because there is a shortage of epi pens.

KittyMarion · 01/12/2019 21:22

No problem with Oatly Barista where I am in Leeds. Not noticed any other food or medication shortages either. Only Humous but that was due to a salmonella scare in the factory I think.

GooseFeather · 01/12/2019 21:22

Cauliflowers.
