To ask if you would want an NHS for the whole EU?

I was doing some reading prompted by the recent thread about healthcare in the USA.

Someone on Reddit pointed out that the USA having a healthcare system like ours would actually be more comparable to an EU wide NHS than a UK one given population size and demographics. A quick google tells me the population of the USA is 300M compared to our 66M, and the EU 500M.

So, how would you personally feel about having a National Health Service for the entire European Union?

Sounds like a good idea. Though many EU countries already have a similar system to the EU and we gets reciprocal benefits. Until we leave.

It’s not really comparable though because of language, border, cultural issues etc. In theory, there should be nothing to stop the US having a more universal system operating at state level so for me, it’s a slightly odd argument.

I'm not sure why the size makes a difference, more people (should) mean more taxpayers to fund the service, not that UK taxpayers would fund EU-wide healthcare. Unless you mean whether some people don't want everyone across the union to have accessible healthcare.
