Hot, savoury, low salt, high protein, quick to cook brekkie?

AIBU to believe some such items exist?

I don't really eat breakfast and when I eat at brunch time I want something hot and savoury. I don't want pastry (too many kcal). I don't want toast, too many carbs.

I want something either prepacked or quick to cook.

Please could I ask for your suggestions?

Tesco express used to do these quorn cocktail sausages which were hot in 20 secs in microwave, now I can't find them, though haven't looked in a big Tescos yet. They were ideal.

I could do cheese and ham on brown bread I guess.

Not fond of hard boiled eggs, or fried eggs. Omelette seems too much of an effort and mess and time and fiddling about and fustering and never getting it quite right.

I live alone too, so cooking 1 big omelette seems a waste, though I guess I could halve it and have other half tomorrow.

Any ideas for me?

I'm not vegan/veggie. Don't think I'd stomach fish early in the morning.

Last night's dinner left overs warmed up.

Sausages or pigs in blankets (festive) cooked in the oven on a timer.

Soft boiled eggs.

No breakfast, early hearty lunch instead.

Anyone any clues on things to put into muffin tinned omelettes? Onion, cheese, ham, egg obvs. What veg would you put in? Tomatoes I guess.
If you did something like courgette, would you fry briefly first?
oh mushrooms I suppose! Probably fry them first too?
Spinach - reduce/make compliant lol in boiling water or pop in fresh?

I'm going shopping in about an hour, so if any of you have your fav recipes quickly (sorry!), I'll buy. Don't have a muffin tin either. I've seen them in the pound shop recently, but might be worth investing in higher quality?

I can't imagine you'd be too popular eating kippers in the middle of an open plan office, but there are less smelly options. I think I've seen cook from frozen kedgeree in the supermarket.

Or what about precooked grains in a pouch? (Not sure about low salt, but worth a look)

I microwave sweet potatoes and have them with nut butter and seeds. Either in halves or mashed like a Buddha bowl. I love them.

Oatbran is relatively low carb too.

My muffin frittata recipe would be leftovers of anything + enough beaten eggs to make the mix 2/3 eggs, then season to taste.

I like onion, green pepper & cheese.

I love vegetable soup for breakfast. I know it sounds a bit random but it’s no different in a way to a smoothie. I make a big batch and keep it in the fridge then just microwave a mug of it in the morning. It fills me up for ages and is lovely now it’s so bloody cold. I’m vegetarian and use quinoa and/or lentils and beans for the protein element but obviously you could use chicken or other meat.

Easy to vary the flavours too.

100g of porridge contains 2% of your RDA of protein. So no, it has very little protein unless I ate 50 bowls of it.

Baked beans! You could do them on one slice of toast to limit the carbs but they're warm and you can buy the reduced salt and sugar ones

I used to make rainbow egg muffins for DS, some combination of sweet corn, tomato, a pepper, courgette etc with cheese. I would cook the courgette a little first. You could make a nice one with Mediterranean veg and a little mozzarella.

Baked beans (can buy the low sugar and salt ones) and scrambled egg (takes about 2mins in the microwave)! Done!

Falafel.

Halloumi griddled with sweet chilli sauce on the side.

American, so some items we eat may be different than yours, and spelled differently, too. Yogurt with Wheat Germ sprinkled on top! Kefir and fruit smoothie (add protein powder). Cheese toast. Cottage cheese and fruit. Peanut butter on a banana, or on a rice cake, if you'd rather have crunchy. Slice of pumpkin bread, or banana bread, with cream cheese. (these can be baked with reduced carb recipes) Protein shake. Protein bar.

I make almond and flax seed keto bread. I’d have that with eggs and spinach. High protein low carb.

Sainsbury’s do the Quorn cocktail sausages (and Quorn picnic eggs) but the sausages are 53% fat 21% carbs and only 26% protein so although they’re a tasty snack they’re not as great as you’d like for those protein goals.

I just put it in to MFP, 50g of porridge oats (one serving) has 5.5g of protein in, and that’s without the milk/anything else you add to it. How much protein are you eating in a day?!

Obviously you don’t like it so you don’t have to eat it, but your figures are doing porridge a serious disservice...
