Best gift I had was a really nice candle that had twinkling lights on the outside when the candle was alight (£5 budget)

£10 budget, I got an assortment of fluffy socks, a really nice mug with individual hot chocolate mixes, a scarf and a huge bottle of vodka.
However it turns out it was my boss who had drawn my name so I suspect he went over budget.(or raided his cupboard at home for the booze)
Sort of put the Nivea set I bought someone else to shame Blush

Tights.
Secret Santa has never been kind to me, but those tights were patterned and quite nice!

Never had a good secret Santa gift, they’ve always been rubbish! Ended up in hospital for the past few days and secretly quite pleased to have missed secret Santa and the Christmas do

Needtobuildabridge · 30/11/2019 09:04

A mug that read "Keep calm and listen to The Archers" I have my weekend morning coffee in it without fail. 😊

DelurkingAJ · 30/11/2019 09:07

A beautiful address book. Only girl in a PhD lab with 10 boys...I had been a little worried but one of the nicest lads picked me!

LajesticVantrashell · 30/11/2019 09:27

A bottle of Prosecco and an Ann Summers 'Never Have I Ever' game. Gifts were handed out just before the very boozy Christmas lunch. Suffice to say, our table was very raucous a few hours in!! We still talk about it now...

sardinesandmangochutney · 30/11/2019 09:29

I've only done secret santa once, but the guy who picked me (found out later!) was known as an excellent present giver so it was great. Chocolate sprouts, a word games book and a pair of knitting needles for a £5-7 budget. I loved it, although I do suspect I'm turning into my mother

SerenDippitty · 30/11/2019 09:32

A dog shaped photo frame. Had it on my desk with a photo of my dog in for years.

Also a huuuuge box of Milk Tray.

YessicaHaircut · 30/11/2019 09:34

A really lovely mug which was the perfect size and shape for tea. I used it every day for years and was gutted when it finally got broken earlier this year!

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 30/11/2019 09:34

I was heavily pregnant on my last secret Santa and made no secret about the fact I wanted chocolate. I got a big box of ferrero rocher, a box of milk tray, a box of malteasers and some after eights. Best secret Santa ever!

TidaQuel · 30/11/2019 09:36

last year was my first ever secret Santa- I put loads of thought and effort into the present I bought. I was disappointed to get a cheap tatty candle in return.
This year I’ve agreed to take part again but don’t yet know who I’ll be buying for so looking for inspiration....

AlphaLemon · 30/11/2019 09:38

A gift card to a coffee place! Would much rather that than some tat!

BlueChangeling · 30/11/2019 09:48

Fluffy socks and a bottle of plonk

honeylulu · 30/11/2019 09:59

Best one was a room spray. It was absolutely gorgeous. I tried to buy a replacement when it ran out but found out it was only available from the gift shop at Kew Gardens! So it was probably a regift, but I don't mind.

I'm quite quiet so I think people have no idea what to get me. Usually I get generic safe "women's gifts". Candles, shopping bags, chocolate and mini prosecco sets etc. Which is ok but a bit disappointing. I always take the trouble to find out/ think about what the individual would like and get a personal gift.

Worst was edible nipple tassels. I gave them to my friend who is a burlesque artiste - at least they got used!

honeylulu · 30/11/2019 10:27

Oh another good one. A large wine goblet hand printed with zebra stripes at the bottom. Much nicer than it sounds.

That Christmas I had a streaming cold. I also happened to have a zebra striped dressing gown and slippers. On Christmas eve I was sat on a beanbag in front of the fire, in said dressing gown and slippers, supping medicinal wine out of my special matching goblet. My husband saw me and burst out laughing, I really did look quite comical without realising.

DorisDances · 30/11/2019 10:33

A mini cocktail set - can of ready made cocktail, fancy straw, cocktail umbrella, pink elephant reusable ice cubes and a nice nibbly thing - all beautifully wrapped.

Turquoisetamborine · 30/11/2019 10:36

I'm in three secret Santas this year. One is a group of my antenatal friends from MN who I have never met but feel I know very well. The other is a group of real life friends and then there's my work one.

I'm quite proud of how much I've managed to get for a tenner for the real life friends one I'm going to tonight. I went to the pound shop and got a nice pot of avocado face mask, some Christmas earrings, some chocolate, a bath bomb. Then I went to Primark and got some cozy socks and a Christmas candle. This is what the person asked for by the way.

My favourite to receive was last year when my new boss was trying to impress and bought me the soap and glory set from boots star gift on a 5er budget. Think she went over that 😅

PurBal · 30/11/2019 10:42

Dartington crystal champagne flutes. Limit was £10.

chipsandpeas · 30/11/2019 10:43

bottle of vodka - saved me buying it for xmas drink stash
