I've been trying to rid our house of shite for quite some time now. It has taken a lot of effort to sort through stuff, do charity shop runs, sell stuff, organise storage etc. I've definitely made an impact as the house looks much clearer now.

Today I took down some drawings from the kitchen wall as DH wants to decorate and I just wanted to update the room and clear space. Most drawings went in a box in thr lounge but a few things went in the bin, unintentionally - I was distracted.

DD8 noticed a thing she made in year R had gone. Full blown tantrum, panic attack, screaming. She is tired anyway after a busy day yesterday with school Christmas fair in the evening.

DH immediately got cross with me, how could you throw away something precious etc. Bearing in mind he does nothing in the way of organising stuff in the house, couldn't tell you what size shoes they wear, asked last week where their pants were. Same place for the last 6 years.

I've made one mistake in 8,nearly 9 years. Tbh I've chucked countless paintings, passed on bags of clothes and toys. Ive kept special things but didn't realise this one item was so important to DD.

I've found the item as it was at the top of the outside bin and returned it, unharmed and perfectly clean to DD. She and DH are pissed off with me still. Ugh
