I'm talking total you-time for one day.
I've spotted the champagne I the fridge that we are saving for xmas day (ocado free gift) And I've got an urge to fuck work right off and spend the day drinking that and watching Elf/Home Alone/The Holiday. In reality though I'll be going to work then school run.My aibu is aibu to want to be totally selfish for one day?

I think I'd start with going back to bed for a bit. Then I'd have breakfast in bed and lounge about in bed with a book or newspaper for quite some time. Then wrap up warm and go into town and wander about the shops for fun, not because I have to buy something in a hurry. I might pop into our local art gallery and have a wander round there too. And then meet a friend for coffee (or perhaps something stronger) in a nice bar by the beach.

Don't do most of that now I have DC. I do everything in a rush, time and money are in short supply!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/11/2019 09:09

That's sound idyllic

I get decision paralysis.

I wouldn't be able to decide what to do!

MaidenMotherCrone · 29/11/2019 09:10

Do what makes you happy Wink.

I've managed to turn all my time off into 'me time'. My DC are adults now though so are responsible for themselves.

I get a long weekend every other week which is brilliant and today I am hiding myself away in my sewing room and having a lovely time doing what makes me happy.

I have the day to myself today!
DC at school, dp at work.
I'm currently laying on the bed.
Going to get a long bath and wash my hair.
Got a new polish to do my nails afterwards.
Lunchtime I'm going to walk to the local delivery and pick up their brie melt sandwich and back home I'll make a hot choc and read my book.
3pm - DC back from school so 'my' day is overGrin

Spied · 29/11/2019 09:18

Deli not deliveryGrin

NewtonPulsifer · 29/11/2019 09:19

Go back to bed. I’m tired all the time lately, even with extra vitamins so a really good sleep would be a welcome bonus.

70sWitch · 29/11/2019 09:37

Put up the Christmas tree and other assorted sparkly crap Grin

Won't actually be able to do it till next week. I'm not usually this premature but I'm over excited this year.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/11/2019 09:40

@70sWitch mine tree is up :)

sleep! i’ve been sleeping very badly for the past few weeks and i’m constantly exhausted. luckily my mum’s on her way to pick up the baby for the day so i can go back to bed and (hopefully!) catch up on some sleep.

WikkiTikkiWoo · 29/11/2019 09:46

Sit in a hot tub for two hours with my book.. have a lazy lunch that has been cooked for me.. lie somewhere warm and read a bit more or listen to the radio.

Sparkle733 · 29/11/2019 09:52

Ohh go for a nice massage, lunch out, stroll around the shops, come home decorate the tree and get the fire on.
Wishful thinking haha

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 29/11/2019 09:58

Go for a long walk up the hills, it is a glorious, clear, crisp winter day here, perfect for a 15 mile hike.

Then when I got home I'd make lasagne which I'd have with a nice glass of wine. Then slob in a bath for an hour with another glass of wine and a good book. Then I'd curl up in fleecy jammies with the book and another glass of wine.

I'd speak to no one all day and watch no TV, listen to no radio. Just peace.

No, YANBU, we all need some time to ourselves now and then.

Mummyshark2019 · 29/11/2019 10:20

Go sit in the jacuzzi and just chill.

bookmum08 · 29/11/2019 10:28

Go to the Lego Store and see what's happening in their Black Friday deals, buy loads of Lego then go to Pizza Hut for all you can eat lunch.
Unfortunately can't do that because I don't have any money spare and I am stuck at home with ill child.

Sunflowersok · 29/11/2019 10:32

Me and my partner woke up this morning and was both discussing sacking work off having a lazy day in bed together and napping on and off... we was late for work again because none of us wanted to leave each other! I’d I could do anything I’d be in his arms still nice and snug, with our lovely cat cuddling up with us Grin

Sunflowersok · 29/11/2019 10:33

@ArnoldWhatshisknickers absolute bliss of a day!
