How do you eat Weetabix?

I like to eat 2 Weetabix with warm milk which has been heated in the microwave. I wait until it's soggy so it's a porridge like consistency. I don't add anything else.

I've always eaten it like this, couldn't eat it any other way.

Is this odd? How do you eat yours?

Hot milk and banana or berries, eat straight away

CointreauVersial · 28/11/2019 13:15

Cold and crunchy, eaten as quickly as possible, before it goes soggy. Runny honey on top, if anything.

I detest warm milk, and the smell of hot weetabix would make me heave.

NachoFries · 28/11/2019 13:18

Cold milk and still crunchy with a drizzle of honey.

Pilot12 · 28/11/2019 13:52

I spread butter on them, they're the lazy persons toast!

MrsC105 · 28/11/2019 14:09

2 weetabix, fat free greek yogurt with honey and strawberries

Malacath · 28/11/2019 14:11

I used to eat it with butter and jam when I was younger. Have since had it with milk like porridge, preferably with mashed banana. It's also lovely crushed over plain Greek yoghurt with honey or sliced banana.
I've not had any since switching to a low carb diet but I really fancy some weetabix now!
My ds who's 3 eats it almost every day with milk like porridge, with cinnamon, honey or banana.

TypicalMeBreakMyTypicalRules · 28/11/2019 14:17

When I was a teenager I'd carefully cover the wheetabix in Greek yoghurt, sides n all, sprinkle with brown sugar and then carefully add cold milk. The Weetabix stays crunchy, just got to eat it quick, once you've started

professionalnomad · 28/11/2019 14:17

Cold with non-dairy milk
Super soggy
Topped with berries

ameliaesmith · 28/11/2019 14:20

Soggy and warm is best, IMO!

Melroses · 28/11/2019 14:32

Throw it in the bin and make porridge.

Loftyswops988 · 28/11/2019 14:33

Exactly same as you OP!

Pinkbonbon · 28/11/2019 14:38

...there are people out there who put butter on wheetabix!?! xD

As if they weren't awful enough as is.

Jeezoh · 28/11/2019 14:41

Oh thanks all, will try that tomorrow with yoghurt!

Melroses · 28/11/2019 14:41

I believe it was suggested by the manufacturers as a viable concept in the 1970s. Around the time Kellogs brought out Rise and Shine. Breakfast cereal manufacturers were full of bright ideas then.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 28/11/2019 14:43

Just as it is out of the packet. Can't bear anything with it and the thought of milk on it makes me want to heave. I also like cream crackers straight out of the packet.

InsertFunnyUsername · 28/11/2019 14:46

Soggy and hot with a sprinkle of sugar.

When pregnant with DD I used to heat it in Double cream instead of milk and mix in chopped up strawberries. I loved it.

TinselAngel · 28/11/2019 14:47

Mash banana in cereal bowl. Plonk two Weetabix on top. Pour over hot milk. Stir.

The evil harpies on FWR call this WBH (Weetabix Banana Horror) and mock me. But I remain undeterred. This is the correct and only breakfast for the Supreme Ruler of the Full Matriarchy (me)

Matron! Bring the straight jacket, Lang has escaped from FWR again!

yesnomaybedunno · 28/11/2019 14:49

2 and half as 3 is too much 😄 add blueberries, a small sprinkle of cinnamon, honey, then ice cold milk. Yum

isseywith4vampirecats · 28/11/2019 15:25

the same as you hot milk sugar and wait till they go mushy comfort food

Waveysnail · 28/11/2019 15:39

Its grim. Cant stand consistency. Porridge rules

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 28/11/2019 15:39

How did I get to 33 without the slightest inkling that some people would think of putting butter and jam on Weetabix?

I thought there was only one way to eat them (with milk, and perhaps sugar for the breakfast deviants)...

I like mine fairly soggy. My four year old, however, likes to add the tiniest amount of milk possible and complains loudly if they aren’t crunchy enough.

blackteasplease · 28/11/2019 15:43

With cold milk, never allowed to go soggy. With cut up banana or sugar free fruit crisps. Lovely. Never ever sugar and certainly not soggy!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 28/11/2019 15:44

I like the chocolate ones with a chopped banana and cold milk. Happy with the plain ones too.

AgeLikeWine · 28/11/2019 15:50

Weeetabix are the perfect weekday breakfast. I have mine with plenty of ice cold milk & raisins or a sprinkle of brown sugar. Not too soggy.

Hot weetabix is just wrong.

Chocolateandamaretto · 28/11/2019 16:02

My dd1 likes them with butter and jam. My younger two like them soggy with cold milk, dd2 with fruit, ds plain.

I am of the “Chuck them in the bin and make porridge” persuasion!
