It’s a fox. They’re vermin. I don’t see the issue with it.

That animal has has as much right to live in peace as you do. Angry

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 27/11/2019 14:46

Fox populations need to be controlled but that can be done humanely. These people are scum.

paddlingwhenIshouldbeworking · 27/11/2019 14:50

That's barely a sentence.

ChrisPrattsFace · 27/11/2019 14:52

It's a fox? They're vermin. I don't see the issue myself

There’s a difference between legal and human vermin control and causing purposeful suffering...

ChrisPrattsFace · 27/11/2019 14:52

Humane** obviously.

adaline · 27/11/2019 15:01

Bollocks. Complete bollocks. The hounds are adored and live a very happy life doing entirely what they were bred for.

Then why did I have to slam on my brakes last week to avoid hitting a group of foxhounds who were just wandering in the road? The hunters involved were stood with their guns chatting and weren't remotely bothered that their hounds nearly killed.

There was also a hound fairly recently that got hit and killed on a fairly major road because the hunt went too close to the road in pursuit of a fox. When people dared to photograph them they got aggressive Hmm

WARNING this article involves upsetting photos of a dead hound.

CheshireChat · 27/11/2019 15:04

It's ok to not want a certain animal around- we had mice and we used traps to get rid of them, however we used the snap traps as it ensured a quick, painless as possible death. Not that horrid sticky paper and ultimately neither humane traps as they're not really that kind either.

Theendofmyrope · 27/11/2019 15:09

I think it's astounding that people are getting so extreme in their responses for the foxes but don't extend this to the chickens/prey of the foxes?

Bollocks. Complete bollocks. The hounds are adored and live a very happy life doing entirely what they were bred for

FFS Hmm
I cannot believe people STILL churn out this bullshit
[ex-hunter both pre and post ban...spin me your hunting bullshit and I will translate for you]

ginandbearit · 27/11/2019 15:16

Incest , domestic abuse , cruelty to children and animals, alcoholism and racism are all long standing countryside traditions too ..(i used to be a community nurse in a rural area ) shall we keep them going too ....ah country ways for country people , you townies wouldnt understand..pffft

Pardonwhat · 27/11/2019 15:17

adaline

Stood on the road holding shotguns? With foxhounds? Right.

adaline · 27/11/2019 15:18

Stood on the road holding shotguns? With foxhounds? Right.

Yes, right.

I live in rural Cumbria and lots of people have guns. Why do you find that so hard to believe?

Pardonwhat · 27/11/2019 15:19

adaline

That they wouldn’t be in holsters in that situation.

adaline · 27/11/2019 15:20

I don't know whether the guns were anything to do with what the hounds were hunting, by the way. But they certainly had guns at the side of the road, although that's a fairly common sight around here anyway.

adaline · 27/11/2019 15:22

That they wouldn’t be in holsters in that situation.

I didn't say they weren't in holsters, or that they were holding them though Confused

I said "The hunters involved were stood with their guns* - not the same thing.

Ticklemeelmo · 27/11/2019 15:22

It's a fox? They're vermin. I don't see the issue myself

This is exactly the kind of fucked up logic these psychopaths use to justify to themselves and others what they do.

It's also illegal to flush out with more than 2 dogs yet these inbreds flout the law week after week under the guise of drag hunting gone wrong.

It always amazes me that the some of the people are rightly horrified by dog fighting, badger baiting etc., yet for some reason are on the fence about foxes being torn to shreds by a pack of dogs.

Ticklemeelmo · 27/11/2019 15:25

Also, time and time again hunts have been busted breeding foxes in captivity to release to hounds. Immediately unravels the credibility of any pretence of 'pest control'

Stupiddriver1 · 27/11/2019 15:29

I follow a lot of sab groups on fb and the majority of hunts are still blatantly fox hunting. Barely any pretence that they’re following a trail. I’ve seen plenty of obvious videos of foxes being purposefully chased and even killed and can’t understand why there’s not more prosecutions.

Zenithbear · 27/11/2019 15:31

Vile cunts.

Littlemeadow123 · 27/11/2019 15:32

@StylishMummy

Foxes are poultry's natural predators. They are just doing what comes naturally. What they have done since before humans started keeping chickens. They don't understand which creatures are out of bounds and which aren't. Putting chickens in a hen coop is the same thing as leaving a jar of sweets in a class of four year olds.

It's people with your ignorant view point towards wildlife and nature that are to blame for the state that the planet is in.

goose1964 · 27/11/2019 15:32

OK so foxes do damage to farm animals but a shot to the head or heart is a hell of a lot less stressful than being chased and torn apart.

Frownette · 27/11/2019 15:37

This thread made me shudder - it's entirely different thinking it's acceptable to have an animal torn apart in excruciating pain by other animals whilst a load of braying idiots get a semi from this 'excitement'.

Maybe NotSoStylishMummy is the same? Finds inflicting pain on animals arousing?

Thurmanmurman · 27/11/2019 15:37

Stylishmummy. Because the fox killing chickens is doing so because it’s their instinct and they need to eat you dimwit. Just because it’s a tradition doesn’t make it acceptable.

MiniMum97 · 27/11/2019 15:42

I really don't think you can compare how a fox behaves (ie instinctually killing chickens) to how humans behave - we are able to make a conscious decision to not treat animals (and other people of course) cruelly - killing things for fun is morally unacceptable. Comparing our behaviour to the behaviour of foxes is a ridiculous argument for fox hunting.

LakieLady · 27/11/2019 15:47

Yes, adored so much that they're shot when they're too old to hunt.
