Errrr Stylish don’t be dim. The foxes eat chickens to survive, we don’t eat foxes to survive. We kill them for blood sport. Bit different! Plus the poor chickens would just be killed by us anyway.

poorstudent1010 · 27/11/2019 13:23

@StylishMummy a fox is essentially the same size as some dogs - imagine the uproar if it was a dog in this situation that was torn limb from limb. It’s just as cruel and brutal if it happened to a fox. You can’t compare a small animal to a chicken.

Pardonwhat · 27/11/2019 13:24

I’m convinced people wouldn’t be nearly as sympathetic to the plight of foxes if they weren’t so beautiful. Where are you all campaigning against mouse traps? Or fishing?

But that’s another debate.

I’m largely pro-hunt and I think this is awful. As would most pro-hunters that I know.

MarshmallowMuggle · 27/11/2019 13:25

Dirty disgusting fucking bastards. How can you have so little regard for the suffering of a living fucking animal?

We should be allowed to pay good money to be able to tell them what we think of them, and the money given to charity. An animal charity.

JeffreeStar · 27/11/2019 13:26

@DeepDarkWoods nope.

FreedomfromPE · 27/11/2019 13:29

The Warwickshire hunt were again disrupting a public road and allowing their hounds to be at high risk AND do harm to livestock. They don't give a flying fuck for their animals, the public or who see them flouting the law. The police stand idly by.

Pardonwhat · 27/11/2019 13:31

I’m completely open to all views on fox hunting as I personally have a lot of conflicting thoughts on the matter.
But -

They don't give a flying fuck for their animals, the public or who see them flouting the law

Bollocks. Complete bollocks. The hounds are adored and live a very happy life doing entirely what they were bred for.

littleduckeggblue · 27/11/2019 13:33

@StylishMummy what a vile human being you are

Majorcollywobble · 27/11/2019 13:34

Utterly sick sadists . Should have been jailed .

FreedomfromPE · 27/11/2019 13:34

Then how are hounds being struck by cars on A roads and private railway lines? The hunt leader's are not providing reasonable care for the safety on animals in their care. The hunts are supposed to be following a marked scent. Either the hunt is acting illegally and not following the legal allowed hunting action OR they deliberately place a scent trail into dangerous locations.

FreedomfromPE · 27/11/2019 13:36

Every hunt dog being killed on a public road or railway should be an investigation into either illegal hunting or poorly managed safety of a business acting in a public space.

userxx · 27/11/2019 13:38

I hope at the end of their lives they feel the same kind of pain.

Winterdaysarehere · 27/11/2019 13:40

I agree.
Vermin who should all be terminated -
And I don't mean the fox.

FizzyIce · 27/11/2019 13:42

StylishMummy What’s so hard to understand ??
They’re wild animals , they eat what they kill and it’s the circle of life !
Domesticated dogs trained to kill is not the natural order of things and you know that .
It’s not like these bastard hunters are waiting until they come onto their land to protect their livestock , they’re making a conscious effort to travel long distances to kill for fun .
Fuck off with you twisted views .
I suppose bullfighting is fine too because you know, it’s tradition innit?

FizzyIce · 27/11/2019 13:43

Winterdaysarehere Amen

Pardonwhat · 27/11/2019 13:44

FreedomfromPE

And what investigation do you want into privately I owned dogs that have wondered off? Or cats that are allowed to roam and get hit by cars?
I can accept any opinions and I do think some of your points are valid but hounds ARE loved.

NotACleverName · 27/11/2019 13:45

Ah, tradition. That old cop out. So what if it’s “tradition”, it’s barbaric and fucked up.

Hoppinggreen · 27/11/2019 13:51

“Have you seen what foxes do to chickens?” Is a shite argument
Foxes kill on instinct, they don’t dress up like twats and turn it into a fun day out, and I’ve lost livestock and pets to foxes before.

MarshmallowMuggle · 27/11/2019 13:56

It’s a stupid argument. People are not animals. Foxes are not people. You can not compare what an animal does by instinct to what a human does for “fun”.

Unless you’re being disingenuous.

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 27/11/2019 14:03

If foxes are causing a problem and need to be culled, it should be done in the quickest, most humane way possible.

I don't think multiple people and dogs chasing one small, terrified animal to the point of exhaustion so the hounds can rip it to shreds is very humane.

longwayoff · 27/11/2019 14:07

Disgusting, should have got 6 months each, sadistic little bastards. And don't start town and countrying me, my family comes from a village where the county hunt was kenneled. You don't want to hear any more.

FreedomfromPE · 27/11/2019 14:08

The hounds are working dogs owned by a private business. Them being on a public road is a different issue. They are not pets. Hunts have taken extraordinary measures to ensure their animals are recognised as not pets. As businesses they should be accountable to dangerous incidents on public roads and the private property of others but that is not happening. Hence my opinion. These businesses simply do not care. They don't demonstrate care towards the risk they pose or take. That, to me is inadequate care of their animals.

LochJessMonster · 27/11/2019 14:09

Foxes are not he only victims, thousands of hounds are shot when they are no longer any good, several have been killed by cars and trains.
Hounds have attacked and killed pet dogs, cats, alpacas and goats. They ran through a rescue cat sanctuary and killed several cats.

Fox hunters and hunt supporters are utter utter scum.

FreedomfromPE · 27/11/2019 14:10

And as to the investigation. Like any business on a public road causing injury or death it should be the HSE or the local council depending on the severity then if illegal activity is found the Police should be handed the case but these laws are not being applied.

Allegorical · 27/11/2019 14:11

I don’t really have a problem with hunting as a form of pest control as the main aim. This wasn’t that. They picked them up and put them in front of dogs as a form of sport when they could have just killed them humanely, if that was their main aim.
